The thing I really like about Lee is his growly voice. That performance had none of that. So musically it was meh to me. The upside is that it was really nice to see him having fun and be animated. He wasn't bad, but I have to agree with Simon.

I like Lee's voice, I just don't like that song. As for Paige, we'll see. I find she misses a lot of notes. Hopefully her laryngitis is better, and I give her a lot of credit for that performance.

Really, Paige? We need a seventh version of this song on Idol?

She isn't breathing and supporting her voice at all. Which is not like her. But this beginning is breathy and weak. And she gets to the big chorus and she has no vocal support at all. Not good. She can't afford this performance.

Randy: Honestly, terrible.
Ellen: The positive: You didn't fall down. You look stunning.
Kara: You stopped competing. Big version; couldn't tackle it.
Simon: How did you feel about it?
Paige: I definitely struggled with the pitch and finding myself in it.
Simon: I could tell the exact moment you stopped trying. That song killed you.

AI loses all kinds of respect from me by having Miley as mentor. That slouchy, nasal-voiced manner of hers will have me fast-forwarding like there's no tomorrow. I suppose she'll get the 'tween viewers, but sheesh.
