It has connotations that an adult shouldn't be discussing with a minor therefore I won't discuss it with you as much as Ellen should not have said that to a minor.

Anything can have a "connotation" if you choose it to have. For example:

I took a big drink.
Woah, that's enormous!
Keep it steady.

Which is where the "That's what she said" jokes originated. Now, obviously, Ellen was making a joke, but I really don't think Katie is so innocent that saying that would affect her in any way.

Yeah, I agree, I thought Ellen's comment was a little inappropriate as well. I'm not outraged or anything, but it made me raise an eyebrow.

What Ellen said to Katie was totally inappropriate! You don't say that to a kid! lol!
The show could use some controversy. This is the worst season of idol. We need controversy.

I am sure that Katie has heard that word before... But it was most likely in private between her High School friends. I, too, thought it was inappropriate for Ellen to call Katie's song 'Horney'. And it was again wrong when doing the recaps, Ryan repeated, "Ellen thought your song was Horney"

Ellen's "h...y" joke was very tame compared to Wanda Sykes' nipple joke and the demonstration. It looked like Ryan couldn't wait to get her off the stage.
