Count your blessings!
Hubby and I both thought this guy gave off an "actor" vibe. As in intentionally obnoxious, not a great singer. Seemed like he and everyone else were smirking through the whole thing, like they were all in on it.Originally Posted by TopCatDC;3794592;
Never felt that way before about a contestant.
OK, here are the chosen few coming out of Boston:
Full Pimp Package
- Maddy Curtis (Hallelujah) - Her package shows her four brothers at home with Downs Syndrome.
- Katie Steves (At Last) - Her Portuguese grandma has Alzheimer’s.
- Justin Williams (Feeling Good) - He had cancer. Remember Kris Allen and Matt Giraud's "White Chocolate" group in Hollywood last year? Justin was in that group. This is his second year in a row in Hollywood. This time he has an angle.
Half Pimp
- Amadeo Rocco (Hoochy Coochie Man) - Th big guy with the big voice has his whole family at the call back and they get an interview with Ryan.
- Mike Davis (Yesterday) - Drives a speed boat in Boston Harbor. Not quite a pimp - they may have thrown in the boat footage just because it's a nice visual.
- Bosa Mora - Nigerian parents and family tag along to his call-back.
Audition Only
- Luke Shaffer and Benjamin Bright (the guitar guys)
- Ashley Rodriguez (If I Ain’t Got You) - Kara and Simon think she is this year's package artist.
- Tyler Grady (Let’s Get it On) - This year's chick magnet?
- Joshua Blaylock (God Bless The Broken Road) - They've been showing him in the commercials.
- Lea Laurenti (Blue Skies) Lovely jazz vocalist
Just started for me in CA. I like to watch the first show, and then I tune in again for Hollywood week. My sister loves the stories so she watches all of the audition shows. I could do without the background, I just want to know if they can sing!
Wow another season of wackos, and jerks mixed in with a few good singers!

My faves so far:
Jess Wolfe
Ashley Rodriguez
Lea Laurenti (I loved the risks she takes)
I was not a fan of either of the 16-yr-old girls. They would be so much better in a few years. But it doesn't look like Idols has many years left though.

In your face TYRA!
I was really going to try to avoid this phony show, but it sucked me in. Sure enough. It's still the best thing on TV most days.
My fav's (hands down):
Tyler Grady (Let’s Get it On)
Lea Laurenti (Blue Skies)
THere was also the girl who did a scat-type of song. She was on just briefly and I didn't catch her name, but I really enjoyed her audition.

I honestly think SHE thinks she's a hot young thing.
It would be tasteless even if she was, but given what she's actually like, its also delusional.

Interesting point. He wasn't good enough a singer to make it to the finals with the judges unless he did that smoldering anger thing at the stadium during the first round...and even then so what. He was shown complaining early in the morning about waiting and he appeared to have been one of the last to appear on his day. I did see that his occupation was "unemployed musician."....so I also vote for a plant for dramaOriginally Posted by AZChristian;3794913;
I liked Tyler. A couple of the ones they liked, I can't see going far. Its a long competition and anything can happen.
