I agree that Ricky was robbed. I never heard him (or heard of him) before Week 1 of the Top 36. As the judges said, his vocals were nearly flawless, but I think Ricky's bland Mr. Nice Guy appearance and personality hurt him with TPTB.
If he'd made the Top 13, we have have seen him grow and change over the weeks, much as Clay did back in the day.
Nope, he didn't steal anything from anybody. He was voted in by the public, was part of the first (stacked) group of 12, and didn't even require the benefit of a wildcard spot. He's nowhere near the best singer in the top 13 but clearly he appeals to a lot of people. The male version of Kristy Lee Cook.
