Kris just sang the National Anthem for the second game of the NBA final.
Not surprisingly, he messed up some of the words and sang it pretty ho hum.
Sorry, but I would have loved to have seen a memorable performance, although I didn't expect him to deliver one.
Nice guy; overly boring singer......

Kris is supposed to sing the National Anthem tonight for the NBA Finals.

I saw that as soon as they called his name he was booed rather loudly.

What words did he mess up..? The words were just fine. Was it the most spectacular version of the National Anthem with amazing notes hit. Nope. But that's not the type of singer Kris is...

The point is he sang it on key something that a lot of other singers today couldn't do anyways. Nobody who voted for Kris voted for him, because we thought he'd win the throat Olympics. IN the end he'll be judged based on the type of music he makes. It's not his fault that Adam lost, and he doesn't deserved to be booed.

I don't understand why they would have someone so lackluster sing the Anthem. The national Anthem needs a person with a voice who can belt that baby out, not Kris Allen. It had to be an Idol commitment that the winner singer if the Lakers went to the finals.

In all fairness, though, he did win. So, a lot of people out there did enjoy his music and would probably enjoy this, too.
And a lot of us will not enjoy it. It is what it is.

I didn't hear any wrong words at all. He sang the words exactly as I learned them in school and how they are printed in my songbook at home. I liked his rendition. You are right in why I voted for Kris. Is he a belter, no, although the news report that I read said he belted the anthem to cheers and applause.

I personally love the tone of his voice and how he sounds. My husband hates it. But he doesn't do the voting in our house, I do, so my dd and I voted for Kris. MrCoz was welcome to vote on his phone, he chose not to. Actually, Adam wasn't his favorite, Allison was. Adam was his choice by default, while Kris was my favorite for several weeks. LilCoz liked Allison best too, but Kris came in second and she even helped me cast a few votes when trying to run the phone and the remote for the DWTS finale got to be too much! Had one in each hand and occasionally got confused as to which buttons I should be pushing.
