David Cook sang that last season - one of my favorite songs that he did, and I must have played it 1000 times on my iPod.

Jason Castro had such a moment with Hallelujah last season, that I think it's best if Adam didn't do that one. Though I think he'd be great.

Earlier in this thread, I'd seconded Adam's singing "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables. But as nice a job as I think he could do, he's really too young for that song, IMO.

He'd have to have some major makeup and costuming, since the song is sung by the character Valjean, a much older man, about young Marius, who Valjean sees as "the son I might have known."

Plus, I'm not sure Adam's voice would sound "old" enough to pass for Valjean.

I don't think Adam should sing a song that another idol nailed....unless he does it differently and nails it himself. Chris Daughtry did ROF, and I loved his version. It took me a few listens to truly appreciate what Adam did with it. I love it now, and think it's totally different from Daughtry's. I think he needs to forge his own path though...and he's doing that very nicely. I can't wait to see what he does on Tuesday!

I would love to hear him sing One Song Glory from Rent, or the reprise of I'll Follow You, also from Rent. I would be in heaven!!!

Adam is allowed to perform any songs any previous idols had performed because he will do it better, esp David Cook.

Adam can do anything he wants, and he'll be amazing. What I'm saying is, I don't think he should cover a previous Idol. He's perfectly capable of doing something different, and catching us all off guard.

I have heard it, and it is breathtakingly beautiful. Whoever up above suggested "Danny Boy" should listen to "Come to Me, Bend to Me" and you'll know how dead right you were to suggest it! In fact, I was planning to suggest listening to "Come to Me, Bend to Me" to this poster.

That was me and I did also listen to "Come to Me..." which is a song that very much suits his voice. If you get a chance to listen to the audition PLUS video, you will also hear a solo from a stage production of The Ten Commandments; same type of ballad - just as beautiful.

God, I hope not, for Adam's sake. He needs to avoid it like the plague.

"Unchained melody" wouldnt be the right for Adam, IMO. However, I do love the idea of him doing an Elvis song. Such as "In the Ghetto". He might be able to bring tears to few eyes with that one.
