Her voice is occasionally incredible, but I totally agreed with Simon that you can almost visibly see her thinking during the song and it's distracting.

BTW - I bought her album recently. It doesn't even sound like her at all. Miley Cyrus could outsing that album. It's horrendous.

I'm still distracted every time she closes her eyes to "feel the moment," then opens them almost in surprise to see someone there watching her. Carly makes no effort to sing to please or entertain the audience or anyone else. It is clearly her own personal moment. That is why she is never going to win AI.

Carly is bigger than this show. She belongs on a big stage. I think she'd be great in Vegas - which I know sounds wierd to some.

I'd been kind of thinking that the look of wide-eyed surprise was because she remembers that she's supposed to have her eyes open... the jury is still out with me as far as Carly succeeding at connecting with the audience, but for several weeks, she's seemed to me to be making an effort, even when she doesn't quite get what Simon is asking her for.

Her voice sure has matured, but I still find that song very enjoyable.

Her old stuff to me sounded horrible, you wouldn't be able to recognize that she was the same singer...thank god she got better.
