Would still love it if Blake won this thing. Its too bad he had some weak moments this late in the competition while Jordin was playing it super-safe.

Bad timing for Bee Gees week - even though Blake did his best and did the falsetto in "You Should be Dancing" with as much of a faithful attempt at the original sound as any human other than Barry Gibb could possibly muster.

I agree, Buckeye. He seems quite mature for such a so-called rebel. And while I do appreciate the judges telling it like it is, I'm concerned that this week's feedback may be confusing. Should I beatbox next time? Should I not? How much?

I don't recall -- do Clive and the gang coach them this week? I think he deserves some clarification on this issue.

Hang in there! It's far from over. They were all weak this round imo. Anything can happen

I like Blake a lot but there is one thing I notice... When he is hot, he's very very hot! When he's not, the song just goes stone cold. I didn't like what he did this past week because it seemed like the melodies just went out the window while I absolutely loved him the week before.

I'm pretty certain he'll be making an album after this is over but I hope they let him pick the majority of the songs and I hope they get him a producer who is has a good ear for this type of music.

I agree with the others who've said they really enjoyed rewatching the BlakeGee's performances.

Again, he is the ONLY contestant who made the effort to modernize the songs. Further, both songs are QUITE catchy, which you'll notice as you relisten. I only saw his rendition of "You Should Be Dancing" once -- two nights ago. Yet while reading this forum tonight, somebody wrote the title and the BeeGee's melody of "...you should be danc- in'..." followed immediately by the BlakeGee's "uh uh uh-uh-uh uh uh" (or however you spell that noise).

His rhythms somehow moved in and self-attached to a song whose original version we know by heart. Typically we reject alterations to a classic the way our bodies reject organ transplants... and yet Blake's transplant "took" without effort. Interesting phenomenon.

And the Danger Zone song, which I'd never heard before, definitely gets better the second time. I'm not quite sure what the song means, but I'd love for it to get radio-play so I could have some time to figure it out...
And wouldn't it be fun to have a Gibb hit in the 21st century?

Go Blake!! I love that he's keeping the show interesting, when it's otherwise a big drag. I also love that he takes the judges comments in stride and doesn't mouth off. (except for the response to Ryan's "you didn't think Simon would get it, did you?" Blake: "No, I didn't.")

And that can be chalked up to honesty rather than mouthiness.

You know, I think Ryan tries to goad the contestants into mouthing off with Simon. Fortunately for them, they know that they should just take it in and sort it out later when they're not as hyped up.

Fireflyer, the 2nd ("Danger Zone") song Blake sang was "This is Where I Came In." If you're interested in hearing the original, it's on youtube. I think it's a pretty cool song. What surprises me is that it's from 2001. I thought it was much older.

I am over Blake. This week was horrible week for him, I hope he gets it together. Or it might be the end of the journey for him.

I don`t know , i just don`t see two soul ladies in the finale.
Yes the beatboxing has gotten cheesy and notorious , but Blake has something going with his own arrangements.
I`m not saying i`m stunned , but there is something.

Blake wasn`t really terrible this week , maybe his performances took some getting used too.
The first one in falsetto was a risk cause the Idol viewers don`t like falsetto.
Ace had the same problem last year.

The second song ( Danger Zone ? ) was actually quite listenable.
On the Howard Stern show they played parts of it back , and it didn`t sound too out of place.

Sometimes i think it would be best to rip an MP3 of the show with the performances , and judge it just by listening to it.
Jordin for example sounded terrible on Latin Night.
But i only caught on to that , just by listening to the audio of the whole show.
By watching the show , sometimes you miss out on stuff.

My guess is that Jordin is the next to go.
    She has no consistency.
With her it`s either a great performance , or at least close to a train wreck.

And if next week is about performing "original" Idol material , the train wreck is just around the corner.
That is going to be some cheesy material , that is going nowhere , for sure.
Those people can`t write decent songs.

And if some Idol contestants already struggle with the greatest songs in the music business , how are they supposed to work some doofus material.

Melinda has an advantage there , because she has a background actually working with music.

Well , as long as it`s a good show.
    Thats what matters.

Oh my... I'm listening to this song Blake wrote/sang and it's BEYOND AMAZING! The sound quality isn't GREAT and you can't understand the words that much... but OH MY GOODNESS! It's called Dumpty Humpty!

Did you catch Barry Gibb being wistfully hopeful that someone could make a hit of "This Is Where I Came In," since the BeeGees hadn't managed? That interview clip had very much the same sound as when Jon Bon Jovi got all twinkly and giggly about Blake taking a risk with "You Give Love a Bad Name."

In last week's disco (towering) inferno, Blake was the only one who didn't sound as if the 1970s had crawled up on the beach to die.
