In your face TYRA!
The fan club party was great. It's really easy to see just how good she is when it's
just her sitting on a stool singing with a couple of acoustic guitars. She hits & sustains notes
that others just dream of. She ha the Opry on it's feet last night when she did a medley of
Jesus Take The Wheel & How Great Thou Art , it was pretty astounding.
Today is the official kick off parade this morning, then the red carpet & CMT awards show tonight. Weather is great & it looks to be a great day headed our way!!!
Music begins today with The Judds kicking things off on the riverfront. Others scheduled include Clay Walker, Keith Anderson, Jake Owen, Danielle Peck, & a whole bunch more There are 3 stages plus the convention center where the meet & greets take place. Tonight in the stadium are Danny Gokey, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, & Carrie. Should be a great day.
I know there aren't a lot of Country fans on this for, but when this show airs later this Summer you absolutely have to watch if for no oter reason than too see the performance by Keith Urban. He brought out an all star band & they did an unbelievable cover of Joe Cockers version of With A Little Help From My Friends. It was the type of magic that you see here at CMA Music Fest. Wonderful to have witnessed it live.
Tonight in the stadium: Randy houser, Easton Corbin, Billy Currington, Zac Brown Band, Martina McBride,& Rascal Flatts.
Another good show last night. Martina is always great, but if you ever get the chance to see The Zac Brown Band do yourself a favor & get a ticket. They are some of the most incredible musicians out there. You'll be glad you did.
The Fest comes to an end tonight in the stadium with: Justin Moore, Kellie Pickler, Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Darius Rucker, & Brad Paisley will send us out on a high note.
The first phase of the Play On Tour ended last night. Carrie now has about 5 weeks off the road, time I presume she will use to get married. She has gotten incredible reviews for the entire first phase, much like this one from last night.
Underwood's singing sparkles
Carrie Underwood is so easy to love it's hard to stand.
First, she has a powerhouse voice that claimed her the American Idol title and a string of hits such as Wasted, Before He Cheats, Jesus Take The Wheel, Last Name and Cowboy Casanova.
Then there is her sunny blond beauty, killer body and sense of style that has photographers trampling each other to get to her on the red carpet.
This abbreviated list of reasons to deeply resent Underwood culminates in the fact that gorgeous Ottawa Senator Mike Fisher proposed to her with an engagement ring that reportedly cost $150,000. Canadian women should unite in outrage over the fact this American poached one of our finest Canadian men.
Yes, this country chanteuse is perfect enough to be a little annoying.
And Sunday night's concert at Credit Union Centre offered little evidence that would ease the nausea of a jealous soul.
Much has been made of the production value of Underwood's Play On tour, and the show lived up to its reputation.
Underwood made a grand, hydrolic entrance -- rising from under the stage on a red velvet chaise in a sparkling tuxedo. The stage rose and fell, shifted and dipped. Underwood swung high in the air on a romantic swing and an electrical storm was realistically created at one point. Later, Underwood flew over the crowd in a blue pickup truck, suspended by wires.
She didn't rest on her pretty laurels though, working the stage hard. She strapped on the guitar and attacked it while singing, and went through at least four costume changes.
Seeing her in person offered the chance to check out her pipes, and they hold up well -- no cracks or pitchy moments at all. The sound was somewhat muddy at first, but cleared up as the performance went along.
Her slick band, meanwhile, moved easily from pop tunes to country ballads.
An almost sold-out crowd was clearly not threatened by the untouchable vision found on the stage. As youthful and wholesome as Underwood herself, they happily cheered her on in a laid-back fashion.
Opening for Underwood was Sons of Sylvia, the more-indie-than-country trio that won Fox Television's The Next Great American Band competition. Reality television winners stick together, apparently.
Next up was Craig Morgan, who also put in a solid, high-energy, pure country performance.
Underwood shines so brightly, however, it's hard to emerge from her shadow.
The singer's success is actually better understood after seeing her live. And on leaving, you can't help but admit it couldn't have happened to a nicer girl.
The last night of a tour is usually a good night for pranks. For those of you that are fans of The Clark Brothers/ Sons of Sylvia watch what Ashley Clark does to Carrie.

The date is near!! Rumor is that she has reserved a whole resort outside Atlanta for the 10th.
Carrie Underwood Keeps Vegas Bachelorette Party Classy - The Boot
Carrie Underwood was incognito at her Las Vegas bachelorette party Saturday night (June 26), until her girlfriends broke out blue feather boas and coaxed her into dancing on a Lavo nightclub banquette at the Palazzo Hotel.
The nightclub fun -- during which, according to the Los Angeles Times, Carrie wore a 'bride-to-be' sash -- was very low key and classy. No male strippers or other adults-only entertainment were in the mix for the bride-to-be. Carrie's visit to Lavo capped a day full of shopping and spa time shared with friends. "She was very tamed and did not wanna attract any attention," sources told Hollywood Scoop.
While Carrie partied with her gal-pals, the singer's hubby-to-be, Ottawa Senators hockey star Mike Fisher, spent a low-key evening with buddies at Nashville's Cabana restaurant, according to People magazine. The evening was reminiscent of Mike's behavior at his official bachelor party in Miami the week before Carrie's bash. According to the New York Post, while his 15 pals downed vodka shots and danced on tables, Mike was reportedly nursing a few cocktails and just sitting back, watching his friends go wild.
The low-key celebratory attitudes of Carrie and Mike seem a prelude to family-oriented wedding festivities the couple have planned. "We'll just show up," Carrie tells People of the couple's big day, the exact date of which is being kept under wraps. "It's mainly about family and friends and the two of us. So it's going to be good no matter what."
She doesn't have a full 5 weeks off, because she's headlining a 4th of July extravaganza here in Utah (Provo's Freedom Festival) on Saturday night.Originally Posted by razorbacker;3943947;

But if that's not possible, gimme a Margarita...shaken, not stirred...and hold the salt, please.
You are correct. You guys in Utah voted her to be the performer on the night. She even beat the ubiquitous & non singing Taylor Swift & Utah's favorite son David Archueletta. If you are going I hope you enjoy it.Originally Posted by Miss_Griss;3959797;
