Unforgettable Moments Throughout AI3

I did this exact thread last season, so here are those times on the show this year where it's left that significant mark, good or bad.

- Scat girl's "Route 66" audition (especially that screech at the end). Oh, plus Simon saying God was taking a day off.

- William Hung's "She Bangs" audition (plus his following success!).

- The group 2 performance night. Enough said.

- La Toya coming out of nowhere on "All By Myself" in group 3.

- Lisa Leuschner getting cut from performing on the wild card.

- Jon Peter Lewis's "A Little Less Conversation" dancing on the wild card round.

- Matt singing to Simon on his elimination exit.

- La Toya, Fantasia, and Jennifer in the bottom 3.

- Jennifer getting the boot.

- Fantasia's "Summertime" performance. There was nothing like it.

- Having the bands (Funk Brothers, Miami Sound Machine, and big band).

- Jasmine being safe with LaToya getting the boot.

- Jasmine breaking down after "It's Raining Men".

- George replacing Donnie and going to the top.

- The tight battling divas atmosphere.

- The support for John and Jasmine, and both their visible misery at times.

This season really was turbulent, so a lot has happened. Pitch in to ones I've missed!

One thing that will stick with me for a while is the way in which John S conducted himself throughout proceedings in the face of some very stern and often inappropriate comments from the media.

The fact that they had the national anthem sung on the finale. What is this, baseball? I still say they need another season as good as Season 2's before AI can be solidified as a national pastime. Perhaps much later in this century or the next it'll be like baseball. We already got someone to say "Play ball!"

That first poster pretty much hit the nail on the head with all of the unforgettable moments in my mind. It was great hearing former AI2 contestants Kimberly Locke, Clay Aiken, and Ruben Studdard perform throughout the season.

Then there was what seemed would be a hopeless effort from the auditions at Houston ("Houston we have a problem."), plus Paula getting sick so for a while it was just Simon and Randy judging the auditions.

And speaking of Randy, I suddenly recall that during Kiera Scott's audition, all the judges left the room except Randy. Being the only one left to have a say, Randy let her through to Hollywood. Then there was Kiera Scott's reaction to not making the top 32, wondering if these people were looking for "trailer trash idol" or something along those lines. :rolleyes

Plus there was the contestant who auditioned that splashed Simon with water.

Then there was the model Lisa (not Leuschner) that made it to Hollywood who played in the pool instead of working with her group.

Who could forget those cheesy promo music videos, including such classics as "Splish Splash We Were Taken Aback"? There was also Ryan Seacrest's attempt to cram every product advertised on the show into one spoken line during this Tuesday's show.

I agree with fluff, who said John S. conducting himself with grace under all the criticism. I would add:

-The Roman brothers, wow I could have done better
-QT being a guest judge, he was a lot of fun
- Seeing the past "idols", reminding me how much I missed watching them perform
- Matt's goodbye was hysterical!
-Paula picking Leah for the top 12, over Suzy. WTF was that???
-Camille always looking like a deer in the headlights for every performance. I think she can be pretty good, but she has to open up more.
-George, always happy, always classy and I loved his earlier performances! His voice makes me feel like I am home.

loved these ones. Except L,F & J in the bottom 3 - I was so shocked.....
I think everyone has them all covered.....can't think of any others......
