    Re: Clay Aiken

We have a track listing!! Ill write what I know about them next to the name.

    Track Listings
    1. On My Way Here: *written by Ryan Tedder, a ballad very popish..pretty.
    2. Ashes: *upbeat, starts with the words "what doesnt kill you, only makes you stronger.
    3. Everything I Don't Need: *upbeat, written by Kipper, described as morrison R&B sound. Clay and Kipper describes as "thats clay? thats clay aiken" Saying a little bit left of center, outside the clay aiken box VERY EXCITED!
    4. Something About Us
    5. Falling
    6. Where I Draw The Line: believed to be written by Clint (somethin)..reminiscent of "home" by Daughtry I would say..mid tempo pop song.
    7. The Real Me: very pretty ballad, about needing someone in your life who can see through your outward shell.
    8. Weight Of The World: *speculation that the writers are the same ones who wrote for rascall flatts, and "wheel of the world" by carrie underwood
    9. As Long As We're Here: written by Kristy Starling, another pretty ballad about loving those around you as long as were here on this earth, as much as you can.
    10. Sacrificial Love: clay described it as being about biding your time in a relationship while waiting for another to come along (something like that)
    11. Grace Of God
    12. Lover All Alone beautiful beautiful work of art written by Clay and David Foster. It was a tragedy that it wasnt on the last album, it was up on itunes, but it needs needs needs to be heard. Such a relatable song..

ahh! Its really happening, Clay is getting that original cd that is all about him, and I cant wait to hear it! There appears to be a hodge podge of every type of genre, a little something for everyone!

Sounds like a great album. I can't wait to hear it. Is #12 still on itunes? If so, I'll have to give it a shot

Since Lover All Alone was only available on iTunes with the purchase of the CD, I doubt that it is available as a single download yet. It will have to be when On My Way Here drops in May. It is a really good song. I am glad that they have included it on this album. It deserves to be heard.

    Thanks for the info, SRS.

Draw The Line was written by Clint Lagerberg. I think it was up at YouTube but no longer. He has a MySpace page where you can hear him sing it.

yup, the demo is called "draw the line" and I love it, its a mid tempo pop song, very very good..cant wait to hear Clay sing it. Another guy was writing for Clay Greg Critchley, and he took the song down cause it was on hold for Clay, that was forget I Ever Knew You...Clay hasnt recorded it, so its up on some girls myspace, but Im surprised that Clint wasnt asked to take the Demo down since Clay was recording it..oh well, lucky for us haha. I know Clays gonna hit it out of the park, his vocals and nuances are amazing.

also, billboard said Clay was touring in July, but Jerome..clays bodyguard said Fall..so were not sure which one it is at this point haha. Im guessing fall, since if it was July I think we would have dates by now.

    Re: Clay Aiken

This is an article about Clay's new album, from music.monstersandcritics.com

    =================
Clay Aiken Returns with On My Way Here
    By M&C News Mar 31, 2008, 11:14 GMT

When Clay Aiken and his executive producer Jaymes Foster began the search for songs to record for Aiken’s first album of original material since his 2003 chart-topping debut ‘Measure of A Man,’ they both fell in love with a song written by OneRepublic frontman Ryan “Alias” Tedder called “On My Way Here.”

The message of the lyrics — how the lessons we learn while growing up shape us into who we become as adults — struck such a deep chord with Aiken that it wound up inspiring the theme (and title) of his new collection.
“I thought if we could find songs along those lines, that deal with my life over the past five years and what I’ve learned from my experiences, it would be a great concept for an album,” Aiken says. “Since I got into this business, I’ve learned so much about myself and about life and the world. I’m nowhere near an expert, but this album has taken on the form of addressing how far I’ve come in those five years and how I feel like I’ve found myself.”
***********

As Aiken’s millions of devoted fans around the world already know, it’s been a whirlwind journey. Since shooting to stardom on the second season of American Idol, the 29-year-old Raleigh, NC native with the powerhouse voice has become an international pop phenomenon who has sold six million copies of his three best-selling albums: the double-platinum ‘Measure of A Man,’ 2004’s holiday CD ‘Merry Christmas With Love’ (which went platinum within six weeks of its release), and the gold-certified ‘A Thousand Different Ways’ — a 2006 collection of 10 covers and four originals that earned Aiken the distinction of being the fourth artist ever to have his first three albums debut in the Top 5 on the Billboard chart.
In addition, Aiken has launched eight live tours, made the New York Times best-seller list by co-authoring the inspirational memoir Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music In Your Life, executive produced and starred in his first TV special, A Clay Aiken Christmas, and won several American Music and BillboardMusic Awards.
In January 2008, Aiken made his Broadway debut in the role of Sir Robin in the Tony Award-winning musical Monty Python’s Spamalot.
