Things That Bug Me About Clay

I forgot about the hard R sounds, I really don't like that at all, but think that is something that could be worked on if TPTB thinks it's a problem.
There is no R in love Clay.
You are not "flying high upon the wings of lurve".

I think his natural exuberance and confidence in his intelligence does lead him to sometimes try and take over the conversation when interviewed as part of a group. It would bother me if I felt he was doing it to "one up" the others, but I don't get that impression from him at all.

Another thing that bugs me is the (imo) premature comparissons people have made between him and established stars.
He does a very minor hip shake and suddenly he's being likened to Elvis.
I think that's a bit OTT.

Ding-dang it, redjet! I opened this thread just so I could post that, and ya beat me to it! (Great minds think alike, as they say.)

Other things we are in agreement with:

8. the constant hand-to-hand mic switch
Yup, really starting to drive me bonkers. I feel like I'm in a tennis match - not that it is a bad thing what with being so proficeint in the game myself...

4. the fact that he was HOLDING OUT ON US during AI about his "dancing" ability -- He coulda shown us how he can MOVE a little earlier.
Given today's lively and bouncy proof that he can move - yes, I'd have to agree.

3. his buttoning the top 2 buttons of a suit coat but not the bottom one
Ok, Mr. RedJet and I were out one day and he was trying on suits. He kept buttoning the bottom button only to be harshly chastised by the disgusted suit-helper-tryer-on person not to do that. "DON'T BUTTON THE BOTTOM BUTTON!!!" So, I can't fault Clay for this. He may have had the same guy yelling at him in the dressing room.

2. those UNTUCKED SHIRTS that conceal his inner beauty!
I'm totally over the button up stripped shirts altogether. Next

1. that baggy brown suit he wore on Vincent and on Regis & Kelly!
God, I hated that thing from the first moment I saw it - and he wore it two more times after that!

(Other than that, he's POIFECT!!!)

That is the other thing that bugs me about him!

In watching the TV interview posted today from Canada where six were interviewed, Clay seemed to be sitting on his hands. It appeared that he stopped himself several times when he wanted to say something. Of course he got a few words in.

Love Clay but was bugged by wiggling his fingers to get votes, not a classy thing from a classy guy. And that face with the oil-Yuch! His "r's" can sometimes distract but the rest is so good I soon forget. I do not know much about musical training..can that be lessened? I would be interested in some of our more musically knowledgeable posters (or anyone with an opinion) comment on what should or could be fixed about vocal imperfections. I remember that problems with vocal strain that Kellly had during the tour next year and that could be a problem as Clay likes to belt out those songs.

i guess i dont get the point of this whole board....so clay fans have a reason to put clay down??? why think about what we dont like when its so much fun to dwell on what we do...why isnt there a " things that bug me about ruben" board or any other contestant???? i guess i just dont get it
