Tamyra joins Justin, Kelly on RCA label

Tamyra Gray, the 23-year-old finalist from Fox's American Idol talent show, has been signed to a record contract by RCA. Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and runner-up Justin Guarini also have RCA deals.

Good for her! But why RCA? I thought their contracts (at least Kellys) tied them to the company who produced the AI shows.

Here's a snippet of the article about Justn signing to RCA. I assume the same would hold true for Tamyra's deal.

RCA said Guarini was signed to 19 Recordings Ltd, the label of British entrepreneur, star-maker and "American Idol" producer Simon Fuller, who will license Guarini's solo effort to RCA in America.
