"That's Numberwang!"
I remember her, she was on the commercials. I remember she had a big mouth and opened it in an annoying way when she sings. But, she has a decent voice.

I thought she sounded pretty good. Not great, but good.

I think Grace was pretty good...she's not one of my favorites, or one of the ones that make you say "wow" after the first time you hear her, but she wasn't half bad either...Just my two cents!

Danville girl takes a shot at stardom
By Michael Burkholder
CONTRA COSTA TIMES
Grace Leer is no stranger to performing in front of large crowds, but tonight she'll have an audience vastly larger than ever before.
Eleven-year-old Grace, a Danville resident and singer, is one of 20 semifinalists on the Fox-TV show "American Juniors." Modeled after that network's huge hit "American Idol," the star performers in this series are kids -- and their parents.
Ryan Seacrest, the host of "Idol," also takes that role on "Juniors."
Tonight, Grace will be among 10 semifinalists competing for a spot in a kids' pop band. Viewing audiences will determine which of the young performers continues on and which go home. Ten others compete on the June 24 episode.
Grace's father, Buzz Leer, couldn't be more excited.
"I am so tremendously proud. It takes incredible patience and [a] no-fear attitude," he said in a phone interview from Los Angeles. "She's got a lot of talent, and as parents we worked very hard to give her the confidence."
Grace has already had a busy year. Her soccer team, the Danville Mustangs, won the State Cup. She also is the North Coast Section CYO under-11 high jump champion, competing for the St. Joan of Arc team.
Grace found out about the "Juniors" auditions from her voice coach. The next evening during the "American Idol" show they saw a call for auditions and decided to go for it. Auditions were held in Pasadena; Grace got a callback and headed to Los Angeles for the taping.
"I am having a ball," said Grace's father. I am using the 'tuck-and-roll theory' -- go with the flow. It's just been awesome. It's been a great experience for Grace as well as the whole family. Fox has treated us extremely well and has done a great job with schedules and preparation for the kids."
Grace has been a regular at San Ramon Valley High School football games, where she sang the National Anthem. That carried over to singing for both the boys and girls home basketball games. She also provided halftime entertainment for some basketball games.
Grace's hobbies include singing, soccer and track. She loves to sing ballads, country and pop, her father said.
The show gives glimpses -- touching, wince-inducing, maddening and everything in-between -- into the backstage travails of the young performers and their sometimes worked-up parents. While it's a big-time dose of exposure, her father also is grateful for all the one-on-one time he and Grace have had while in L.A. Grace is the youngest of four children.
"Grace is just being Grace and the show has not changed her," he said.

I haven't made a decision on any of the kids yet. It's just too soon based on what little we have seen so far.
