One of these days I'll stop being sensitive. Until then, I'll continue to be devastated on a daily basis. Life breaks my heart.
Alan Osmond's son, David Osmond, was cut in Hollywood...
Here's the Link that lists a supposed "ringer" this year, Joanna Pacitti, and her resume... she's also rumored to be the 3rd person when DWTS Mark Ballas and Sabrina Bryan split...
Supposedly there will be a Top 36 rather than a Top 24....
They are allowing past Top 50 contestants to re-audition....
Rumor has it that the new judge, Karla, is being really tough on the auditioners....
Joesplace has listed some of the ones who has supposedly made it to the Top 50:
Jakob McKay: auditioned with Against All Odds
Michael Bartul: auditioned with "Escape" written by new judge Karla
Ryan P.A. Johnson: Band's myspace
Stephen Fowler
Taylor Vaifanua

Cool, thanks bbnbama!
Ahhh loved looking in this forum and seeing some Idol spoilers already! Thanks bbnbama!
I already have mixed feelings about the "ringer" Joanna just from reading that article.
Looking forward to another season of AI and future spoilers!
From mj...this was supposedly in a FOX internal memo
YEAH for less bad auditions and yeah for more Hollywood rounds! Interesting that they are bringing the Wild Card week back! All episodes will be Tuesday-Wednesday. No Thursday’s planned; same overall number of hours as last year. There will be 3 weeks of auditions and 2 weeks of Hollywood rounds. There will be 36 contestants coming here to Hollywood as opposed to 24 last year. There will be a wild card week and there will continue to be 12 contestants in the Finals. There will be a couple of more 2 hour shows than in the past. Promotional thrust will have fewer bad singers and more ‘aspirational’ singers. There will be no Idol Gives Back.

LinkChanges Coming To 'American Idol's' Season 8
By Access HollywoodDecember 13, 2008, 11:01 am PST
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- "American Idol" is coming back in January for its eighth season, but the show is bringing some changes with it.
In a memo from FOX Network Program Executive Council, leaked on the Internet and published on mjsbigblog.com, "Idol" is expanding.
For starters, the month-long period where "Idol" usually features the best and most bizarre auditions from around the country have been shortened to just three weeks, followed by two weeks of the show's famous Hollywood round, according to the memo.
"Promotional thrust will have fewer bad singers and more 'aspirational' singers," the memo read.
But the Hollywood round won't just whittle the contenders down to a slim 24. Instead, 36 contestants will get a shot at the top prize. They will however, be reduced over time to a Top 12.
One of the most sought-after rounds in "Idol" history is coming back as part of the changes -- the wild card round, according to the memo.
Fox's memo announced that there would be more 2-hour episodes, but ratings juggernaut "Idol Gives Back," will not happen in 2009.
While Fox declined to comment on the leak, a press conference call about "Idol's" new season will happen on Monday.
A few more tidbits...
Link'American Idol' freshens format with Season 8 changes
By Bill Keveney, USA TODAY
Good singers will have a better chance to make American Idol's top 12 this season.
Thirty-six hopefuls, up from 24, will be chosen for February's semifinals, and wild-card picks — back for the first time since Season 3 — will let the judges put three singers into the top 12.
Those changes, along with the addition of fourth judge Kara DioGuardi and a second week of the Hollywood round, constitute Season 8 "tweaks" for Fox's top-rated Idol, executive producer Ken Warwick says. "They're not mega-changes. They are just little things to keep the whole format fresh and interesting."
The Idol Gives Back charity fundraiser is taking the year off but is expected to return for a third time in Season 9.
Season 8 will open with three weeks of auditions rather than four, creating room for a second Hollywood week. Simon Cowell will break tie votes to decide if a singer goes to Hollywood.
Auditions will feature roughly the same good/bad/ugly ratio of previous seasons, and judges' comments won't be softened, Warwick says. "If the judges are mean, the judges are mean."
(He says he was not aware of reports that Paula Goodspeed, who died of an apparent suicide last month, had stalked judge Paula Abdul before her 2006 audition. "I might have known she was a fan. … Obviously, if we honestly thought there was any real problem there, we would never have" let her perform before the judges.)
After an absence, group numbers will return to the Hollywood round. Those collaborative efforts often reveal bratty behavior. Performers can again play instruments.
Starting Feb. 17, six male and six female semifinalists perform each week for three weeks, with the top man and woman in viewer votes moving to the finals, along with the next highest vote-getter.
The judges will bring back some semifinalists and pick three to round out the top 12, a practice that gave new life to Clay Aiken and Jennifer Hudson in the past. The final round won't necessarily start with six men and six women, as it has in recent years.
Idol was down about 7% in viewers last season, although the Tuesday and Wednesday shows each topped No. 3 Dancing With the Stars by more than 20%.
Warwick says a ratings decline isn't surprising in a seven-season series and that Idol dropped less than others. "I would be very surprised if, on this eighth series, the ratings didn't suffer slightly, especially with this economic backdrop and the way TV audiences are going in general. I will do my best to offset that."
Hooray! I have to say, all of the proposed changes and reverts sound great to me. Except the fourth judge, but que sera.Originally Posted by bbnbama;3248033;
I am so glad they shortened the painful city auditions. Do you think Chris Daughtry' comments or Paula's psycho fan had anything to do with it?
