According to the spoiler in earlier posts, May 7's episode photographer is Nigel. Awww man. I can't get over the horrible lion dance photoshoot in cycle9.

i agree, nigel's photos sucks. the only one i really liked was the garden eden but the only reason i liked it was the make up and the set. and i also liked the eugena bull one. the rest of his photos really stink.

and i can't believe there at rome. and there doing a stupid famous movie icon photoshoot? how stupid is that. what a waste of an international destination.

rome is one of the most interesting places in the world and they are going to waste a photoshoot being movie icons?

in Rome, i can think of 1000million things off my head to photoshoot
1) collisium
2) roman statues
3) greek mythology
4) gladiators/ warriors
5) Roman/Greek gods/ planets
6) roman artwork
7) roman structures and buildings


there is billions of ideas you can do in rome, but there going to be FAMOUS MOVIE ICONS? you can do that in NEw York. waste of a photoshoot. and since nigel is taking it, we know its going to suck. he expects the model to do everything so he doesn't need to photoshop it at all. even tyra's pictures she has taken are more interesting than nigels

nigel will definitely bash again his least favorite contestant like what he did to jenah, he doesn't like fatima at all, so that could be fatima's disadvantage if she's still on that episode

Ugh, I really hope that with "famous movie icons" they're talking, say, silver screen sirens (with Gene Tierney for Katarzyna, if she's still there). I'm afraid we're going to get contemporary people, though - I can't really think of any contemporary actresses off the top of my head, since I watch embarrassingly few movies - which is just not going to cut it. Isn't there a soundbyte of Tyra going, "Be a model, not an actress! You're looking a little actress-y; watch the neck!" from almost every cycle? Unless they manage to do something right and go for the very old-fashioned, silent movie actresses who were hired for their beauty and poise rather than for their ability to act, I just can't see this working out. I'm afraid it's going to be a repeat of Cycle 2's "Pretend to be this random movie star whom you look nothing like, really!". Moreover, I'm afraid it's going to be a repeat of Cycle 7's "Pretend to be this random famous person whom you look nothing like, really! ... and their boyfriend, too!". Moreover, it's going to be shot by Nigel "The Hemorrhoid" Barker. It's going to be a mf cornucopia of hate and confusion. I am so not impressed, in advance.

Though I am tired of famous icons, it's too early to judge. I love some of NIgel's photos except for the Alien and the Chinese dance but the rest are amazing.

See, I just don't think he's a very good photographer. Although some of the pictures he's taken are pretty good - the swimsuit shots of c6 are the ones which immediately come to mind - to me, it's more because of the relative simplicity or ingenuity of the way the photoshoots are executed stylistically rather than the way he takes a picture. I can also think of some pictures he's taken, such as the ones Jaslene won for winning the go-see challenge in Australia in c8, which are just really, really bad, both stylistically and photographically speaking. In fact, I like his shots from c2, and the one from c6, but I really think that's pretty much it, for me. So, I guess I'm just not looking forward to him taking the pictures in general - and then, there's the fact that it seems like those famous icon shoots never turn out very well, so I'm waiting anxiously and without a lot of hope for good results.

Not that I don't hope I'll be proven wrong, though!

Yeah, I really hope you're right. They've had some really splendid shoots this time around, so it would be sad if they rounded it out not with a bang but with a fizzle.

I mean, remember poor Anchal being made to wear that terrible wig and mustache? I am shivering with disgust as we speak.

I think that if Tyra thought that she could eliminate Katarzyna for not flaunting her personality and make it look at all feasible to the viewing audience, she would. In fact, I'm not convinced she won't do it anyway!

I'm just hoping, really, that the random spoiler saying that Whitney doesn't make it to the final two is true. Not necessarily because I dislike Whitney (although, yeah, I guess I do) but because it leaves matters open for a Katarzyna/Anya f2, which would be amazing. Add Fatima in there for the final three, and well there you go Tyra, you just regained quite a bit of credibility!

So next week Lauren is going home. Then, its the warrior shoot and I wanted to know whether that was the "gothic" shoot Dominique was supposed to go home for? Because that would leave Whitney, Fatima, Kat, Anya (and they would probably be eliminated in that order too)
