It's a chance to put herself in the spotlight. Heather's DA account exploded with popularity after she was on the show.

She could have been scouted, or been like Victoria, and auditioned as a joke. Either way, maybe she decided to try something totally different and out on a limb for herself. It may be abnormal to her regular life, but nobody is so one dimensional as to never question themselves.

According to Lauren`s myspace it looks like she joined some kind of strange cult or something wierd. BTW I see on her myspace that Lauren somkes. Good thing she was not in cycle 9 with the smoking ban that that cycle had.

I think she's just punk.

No need to look too hard into things, the whole idea of punk is that it's angry and shocking. There's nothing to say that Lauren isn't a perfectly nice or well-adjusted person.

And to clarify, technically, Satanism isn't the worship of the devil. It's a belief system who's followers believe that their actions should not be influenced any higher power--under a Christian lens, their willful disobedience to the word of God is automatically Satanic. Hence, Satanism.
