Looks like the fallout from the TYRA-GATE America's Next Top Model scandal isn't over yet. MediaTakeOut.com is hearing whispers that Elite modeling agency may have cut Saleisha's contract down from three years - to only one year.

According to a person claiming to be familiar with Saleisha's arrangement with the top agency, Elite is trying to drop Saleisha from its ranks. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "[Elite] wants to walk away from Saleisha altogether, but that would look too bad. So they're just going to put her on the shelf and wait for her contract to expire."

Dang, that's cold. You know what, Saleisha really deserves better - it ain't really even her fault. If anyone's to blame for this whole mess, it's Tyra and the shows producers for pushing for a lousy winner.

All this story reminds me of what Tyra said about Saleisha during the first episode "Saleisha is a girl who needs ANTM, because without it she's a mediocre model".
Well it looks like even with ANTM she's not better. I wonder if Elite is going to be in the prize package next season. I thought that they had something to say about the choice of the winner, but apparently they don't care that much, since if they don't want the girl, they're not going to bother trying to help with her career and wait until her contract expires.

The rumor came from a gossip site and wikipedia posted with added opinions of course. The thing that is really starting to annoy me about this "scandal" is that Tyra hasn't publically adressed it yet. She has let Saleisha only do three interviews to my knowledge (conference call, TV Guide and Regis and Kelly). She hasn't been seen at any parties, promotional events, (except Seventeen Mag cover presentation), or anything else. It's like Tyra is ignoring it and letting Saleisha hang out to dry so to speak. Or Tyra could be treating the "scandal" because it is mainly internet driven as kooky blog conspiracy theories. That's most people in mainstream media perceive blog\forum sites opinions anyway. If it was me and I didn't think I did anything wrong, I would come out of the gate swinging and defended myself.

I am very surprised Tyra hasn't addressed the scandal yet. Maybe she thinks if she ignores it, it will go away.

Elite has every reason to pull out of Cycle 10 even if they have already signed the contract. Their reputation is on the line and I would think they would feel their reputation in the industry is much more important to keep intact than being the prize in a modeling competition for Tyra.
