I think the "scandal" doesn't have much to do with the fact that Saleisha modeled before but the fact that she modeled before in close connection to the Tyra empire. That is why it's very hard to disregard the idea of favoritism and why it's so hard to accept she was contacted through MySpace to come on the show.

Interesting thread. As a viewer I've always felt the judges decided on a winner beforehand. That's why so many better contestants get the boot over lame reasons. Really now, how many models were doing great work but had one so-so picture and that got them eliminated?

The unfairness in Saleisha's win is to the other contestants who really never had an honest chance to win. So matter how well they did the fix was already in. Saleisha is cute, but it's hard to believe she would have won without the past connections. And the fact she has had a a lot more experience that many of the other girls also gave her a huge advantage.

i have a hunch she never read any rules. since she already knows Tyra and Tyra asked Saleisha to be in the show she by passed any regulations. so from the beginning tyra and co. already gave the crown to saleisha before they met with contestants. such underhanded manipulations

But she is not a child. She could read the rules and say "no" to the offer if she really wants to respect the rules.
She could just tell them "no" for her previous experience as a model(or actress). But she didnt.
So it was her choice to break the rules.
Breaking the rules, or dont respect the rules is not fair and has no respect to other girls.
Moreover, if she was a good role model(just like she said), she would not break the rules.

I agree, I speculated that Tyra promised Saleisha she would get her on ANTM since the days of Tzone and then make her the winner. Tyra took care of all of it already.

Saying that a dream was offered to you doesn't necessarily mean anything because you can, by choice, go to an audition. I don't see how being scouted is anything big. Mm, nothing big.

Also, I was reading the E! Online comments about the Scandaleisha article and a previous scouter posted saying that they are given a list of what Tyra likes.

I think Tyra likes Saleisha.

That is exactly what I mean about her dream being offered. Other girls weren't offered, they chose to audition themselves and she was offered to audition so of course she accepted. Just like imagine if you were applying for the job you wanted, or you wouldn't but then you get offered by that company or person, would you have refused? I don't think you would.

she wasn't actually 'scouted' through myspace. they only told her to word it like that to sound more professional than personal. they figured every young adults have Myspace anyway, and it's easier to contact a lost friend via that site.

so the Top Model associate CONTACTED saleisha on her myspace page.

OT: i know some in the industry is checking myspace right now some even acts as fans and keeping notes for future reference.

The point is, we've never really heard of any other contestant that was scouted by Tyra & her company. It's obvious that they only reason they scouted her was from past connections with modeling with Tyra - which might be breaking the contest rules (this is a contest, with rules, by the way, Saleisha) and her unfair win would obviously arouse a scandal (Tyra, did you really think you were getting away that easily?).
