Heather - Cycle 9

The special treatment thing: I think Tyra was being fair. What Heather flubbed most I think was not really her lines so much as her making all those weird faces after messing up. Like Jay says, it makes it that much more harder to edit. It wasn't a matter of choosing a bad take, it was a matter of choose the best out of a bunch of really bad takes. And that's something Heather can change, and I don't think it was her disorder that caused her to forget her lines. Maybe partly, but not entirely. I think she needs to take speech classes, maybe it would help.

I must admit,considering how much ANTM values personality and presence (They say that SOO much on the dang show), it puts Heather in a bad position. As much as I want her to win, I would doubt they let her because of it. If Saleisha does win, then it's only because it's the inverse of Heather and it provides a so-called "good message".

Though I'd think high-fashion is more about the photos you take then the commercials you do.

Heather has to know she is popular with the U.S. fans since she keeps winning the Cover Girl of the Week vote. And I am sure she will have job offers after this show even if she does not win it.

Lisa messed up a lot and didn't get her lines fed to her. She performed better than Heather in the commercial (in that she made it through it) ans was still sent home. No, that's not special treatment!
Anyway, did you see how much they photo shopped Heather's nose in the cover girl photo? It was all pointy! It didn't look like her at all! And it was her weakest one yet!

Heather does have personality and presence. What she needs to work on is having more confidence and concentration and having tough skin-- not let people walk all over her. Her walking and posture somewhat improved, considering but she still needs to work harder on that.

Yes, Lisa did, true that. But Heather almost (almoostt, she did pretty good in one of the earliest commercial things, the group one where she won an extra prize) always does bad when she has to say something. Don't get me wrong, I adore Heather, but the producers/editors/whathaveyou/will try to get some negativity on her.

You are right. And pair that with the fact that she doesn't have good posture or a good walk... it really doesn't make sense that she is still in the competition if the judges aren't taking her autism into account (which they say they are not). I think she should have gone home week 2 when she showed that she could not walk or last week when she showed SHE could not take criticism. This week she had the worst photo and commercial. I think soon, they will have no excuses to allow her to stay. My opinion is that the judges are sacrificing the dreams of more capable models so that Heather can stay.

Heather needs the criticism so she will improve. They know this and that's why they have to instill the 'tough love' on her. The judges need to stress her weakness and by doing that Heather can and will be able to soak all that information. Remember what Tyra said earlier, Heather is awkward but when you give her direction it's MAGIC!

Heather's not the first girl whose line were fed to her - Brittany C8 and Nicole C5 come to mind. Kahlen too, I think. I don't really see how Tyra can call that "special treatment" when there's precedent.
