Re: Heather - Cycle 9 The girl has a disability which centers around social situations. They are clearly toying with her because of it. Saleisha spreading out on the only king sized bed there was ridiculous, but it was probably just a joke. I joke with my friends like that all the time! The thing is Heather has a disability to where she would not know it was a joke. They've been living with her for months and they all know that so clearly they were laughing at her expense.

Re: Heather - Cycle 9 Saleisha has pretty much always been nice to heather, i also think its not unprobably for someone to be around someone else so much they forget that that person has a disability. The bed thing was overblown by Heathers reaction, it seriously wasn't that big of a deal.

| Re: Heather - Cycle 9 for us normal people is not a big deal. if you read about Aspergers (Autism) you will know why Heather is the way she is when pushed around. you should read up on it , it does the criticism good. people should be more educated about Autism. it's been an alarming rise in pediatric care in the nation and world. | Re: Heather - Cycle 9 Name one incident where Saleisha was genuinely nice to Heather, I bet that would be a challenge for you. You don't have to answer because I'm sure there is none. |

Re: Heather - Cycle 9 the thing that scares me the most, is that a girl like heather is considered to have a social disability, but bianca and saleisha are "normal adults"..... thats pathetic.

Re: Heather - Cycle 9 I really like to see Heather win because photographically..and personality wise,I LOVE her so much. After watching the latest episode, and knowing (from reading in this forum) that the final runway would be on one of the wonders of the world,I can't see Heather being on it. I've not seen her walking full of confidence yet.

Re: Heather - Cycle 9 Hi everyone! I've been lurking here forever, but I do want to speak a bit about Heather. My older brother has Asperger's, and so the way people misconstrue Heather's maturity level and the like really frustrates me. Something people with Asperger's really need is some degree of comfort and consistancy -- that bed situation would have been horrible to deal with it. You have to look at it this way, when you have Asperger's you don't have the social skills to negotiate things that are unfair to you, and you freeze up because you have no idea what to do. You also don't see the joke a lot of the time (partially because Saleisha is about as humorous as a pet rock). It's not that you feel privledged and need to have better treatment than everyone, it's that you freeze up and don't know what to do when you suspect that people are screwing you over and mocking you. It hurts me to see that people just think of her as being a pity-lover and immature, because that shows that there's still a huge lack of empathy for autistic people. If a mentally normal person behaved that way, of course it would be something less than desirable, but she has a pretty huge problem and is doing a great job facing it. She's far more understanding and independant than a lot of other autistic people I've known. She's beautiful, and I hope she wins. Let's face it, the majority of what models do is get photographed, and she's great at that! Most of the time it's not going to be shooting ads or making speeches on runways. That's just ANTM. hahaha.
