You misinterpreted Tyra's words. She told Bianca to have friends/people she knows to take test shots of her to send agencies. I don't recall Tyra saying anything about not using the photos from the show.

I think it was implied. If her portfolio was any good at all, why would she get amateurs to take photos of her and use those? Really, does that make sense?

Like I said in another thread most modeling agencies don't use ANTM photos for the girls portfolio because they are to theme oriented. I remember AJ saying she couldn't even use her circus freaks photo because of that reason. Basically Tyra gave Bianca the right advice.

Actually, they really don't take the test shots used when trying to get into an agency. Those are polaroid types, in a bikini or white T-shirt/tank and such, with no make-up. You might need a portfolio as well, but the basic no glam shots are definitely used. (from what I have read).

Her goodbye did make me cry a little. I haven't really cried for any girl and it's strange because I really don't like Bianca all that much. Tyra's speech to her actually seemed heartfelt and that she really believe in the potential she had.

College students, borderline between amateur and actual photographers, are a great source for photography. They need free or relatively cheap photos to build up their portfolio and the model as well. Win-win situation.

Amateurs aren't as efficient but if taken correctly, it can work.
