Saleisha - Cycle 9

I wish that it wasn't shown Saleisha went to T-Zone because I think people would like her a lot more if they didn't think Tyra was playing favorites. She isn't the most high fashion of the group but I can't stress enough that ANTM isn't high fashion. Girls can be eliminated and go on to have great modeling careers, that's great for them. Tyra isn't picking the most high fashion model, she's picking someone who can represent the brand she is creating for herself and someone who is marketable to the general public. The general public isn't someone who can understand high fashion, that is why most people don't get high fashion models. If everyone got high fashion, it wouldn't BE high fashion.

If you want to watch a modeling reality show where it doesn't matter if you have a piss poor attitude and is only based on your potential as a high fashion model, watch AusNTM. Gemma and Alice were my two favorites in both their respective cycles, Gemma is in my top 3 of best NTM contestants ever. ANTM isn't the same and the only criteria based on a winner isn't how pretty your pictures are or how skinny and tall you are. Tyra has said so many times, AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL isn't only about your pictures (not to devalue Saleisha's pictures at all as I've loved them. Especially her tulip picture, it had more intrigue going on in it than most of the other pictures). She isn't talking about an actual new top model in America, she is talking about AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, which is something SHE has created and has the final word on who she thinks fits it.

Saleisha may not be who you want to win, but after watching 9 cycles, it isn't hard to realize the type of girl who will win. Which is why most people are saying they think Saleisha wins whether they like it or not. You KNOW the type of girl that wins so get over your favorites not winning please, they're not want Tyra wants as her winner. It doesn't mean they're not good models, they're just not AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL.

A lot of the girls who have gone on to have good modeling careers had bad attitudes during panel, etc. Ann (and I love her), Elyse, Mollie Sue, AJ... they've all gone on to have good careers. Like I said, it doesn't mean they're bad models as they're usually better than the winners, it's just that they're not the personalities that Tyra wants to have represent her. Heather is too awkward and the first time Jenah had a bad critique, her whole demeanor changed and she looked angry. Saleisha has gotten bad reviews during panel a lot yet people are saying she gets unfair positive treatment. She is positive during her bad reviews, where other girls get defensive. ANTM isn't someone who gets mad or defensive, they take it and try to show the panel they've worked on it.

Saleisha is beautiful, to most people at least. You don't like her because you have different favorites in the competition and that's too bad. It isn't her fault the panel likes her so much. I see Jenah's and Heather's potential, I realize they're beautiful. It's too bad people are so biased they can't see Saleisha's potential. And yes, I'm talking like Saleisha wins this because I feel she is the only girl in this competition who can really hold the title of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL. I really do believe that she wins.

BTW, lol @ my huge comment. I realize how ridiculous it is and I'm laughing at myself. I'm too obsessed with ANTM though and I love Saleisha. Like she said in the first episode, she's bomb.

I personally love Saleisha and think she has great potential as a commercial model
Out of all the girls, she would probably be most suitable to Seventeen and Cover Girl
But what annoys me, and I think annoys a lot of other people, is Tyra tries to sell her as something she's not
If Tyra wants her to win, then she should sell her as a girl who is very commercial and relatable, that's what she did with Eva
But she's trying to sell us to her as an edgy, high fashion girl and it's simply not believable
Heather or Jenah as an edgy, high fashion model? Of course I'll buy it!
But Saleisha, not so much
She told her that she had the most interesting, edgy faces, and I was like what?
There's nothing edgy about her, the only thing edgy is the haircut Tyra CHOSE to give her
The haircut doesn't suit her, edgy hair does not always make an edgy model
If Tyra wants to convince us that Saleisha should win because she could make a lot of money of commercial print, then go ahead
But trying to sell her to us as an edgy, editorial girl is no less ridiculous than trying to sell Jael as a classy, sophisticated, Cover Girl

Tyra is trying to do the same thing to Saleisha what she did with Mercedes and Nik- trying to prove that a commercial model can be edgy as well. But once those girls got out in the real modeling world, they were seen for what they are- commercial models. Saleisha herself said she's a Sports Illustrated\Victoria's Secret type model. I also wished that T-Zone camp didn't out either because her pictures are being picked apart because of it. I don't see where she's been favored in the competition and if she was don't think Bianca would have brought it up by now. She has taken criticism better most of the girls so far and even though she hates her makeover, she hasn't let it affect her ability to take photos (Jaeda).

I absolutely agree with most of the above posts...Saleisha is gorgeous, funny, able to laugh at herslef, kid around....I loved the episode in which Ambreal was singing and Saleisha went " Aww Am!"
And the whole T Zone thing...Why are people making such a big deal out of it...I think its a beautiful thing that Tyra's doing for young girls out there, and if a girl with low esteem can come out of that Camp and Shine like Saleisha's doing today, I would say Hurrah for her!
People are Ok with HEather's disability and how gently Tyra and CO Subconsciously treat her, but they have huge problems with Saleisha because she once battled with Self Esteem and did the TZone thing....I am an MD and I have personally seen cases of suicide and acute depression in girls with low self esteem.ITs more common and more crippling ( for lack of a better word) than Autism.
And I honestly think that Tyra being fully awae that this is a highly Viewed show, is not dumb enough to mention Saleisha's T zone connection and then show favoritism!

I think that if Saleisha didn't go to Tyra's T-Zone Camp, I would like her a little more. But, to me it seems like instead of being harder on her, like Tyra said in the first episode, she is easier on her then the other girls. To me it looks like Saleisha is Tyra's favorite, so it is a better chance of her winning. It is Tyra's show. Whatever she says goes.

I don't like Saleisha. I disliked her since pre show. TZone was just another nail in the coffin. I hate AusNTM because it's based on who has potential, not who delivers the goods. My liking of Heather has nothing to do with disliking Saleisha.

And I think this girl is our winner. She's totally what Tyra is looking for. Just because she wins doesn't mean I'll like her. I hated Jaslene, and I still can't stand Jaslene, even though she won. There are plenty of super successful models who bother me loads.

... I don't even know why I bother posting in these forums, sometimes, because this is only my opinion, nothing more, it won't change what anyone else thinks, just as all these pro-Saleisha posts do nothing to make me care more about her success.

I love this girl. She doesn't come off as overly cocky, arrogant, or supercilious to the other girls. Although she definitely looked better with her old hair, she's proven herself by her past experience in addition to her booking a show for Paris FW. Team Saleisha, y'all!

One could completely leave out the T-Zone references and still make compelling arguments that the conditions of this competition are set too much in Saleisha's favor, mainly, because of her past experiences. Saleisha's T-Zone/Tyra/ANTM connections just make people smell a conspiracy, or at the very least, a conflict of interest on top of everything else. I don't honestly think that people are so shallow to believe that T-Zone alone should disqualify Saleisha from entering ANTM.

I think Saleisha is soooo average looking to me. Her haircut does her no favors either. Maybe they should add some layers to it?
