Who is to say how she got the Tibi show? If the designer didn't want her in the show, she wouldn't have been in the show no matter who trying to persuade them. It's not like she's never booked a runway show before.

She never said she was successful. To my understanding, she only did modeling as a part-time thing, and then after getting scouted on MySpace, decided to give the show a try so she could turn it into a full-time job.

Walking in a haute couture show in Paris is a pretty prestigious thing to get to do. The runway challenge was fundamentally how most models get cast anyway. A group of girls walking for a designer and the designer handpicking which girl(s) she wanted in her show. She won that prize over all the other girls in cycle 9, so apparently at least someone in the fashion industry sees potential in her.

I don't know, Saleisha has impressed me at least.

ITS NOT HER FAULT THAT SHE WON, Its Tyra's and Nigel's and Ms. J's and Twiggy's! Not hers! They decided to keep her every week, if they wanted to, they could've wrinkled their noses, ripped up her photo, and said goodbye. But they kept her every week until they chose her as the winner!

She had a friendly personality, a great walk, pretty good pictures (the last 5 were amazing), and an overall appeal. Honestly, I don't understand how people can call her ugly! She may not be the most stunning, but her face is far from ugly.

Understand, I was not happy with her win. If you look at every past winner, they have an interesting face, a great body, and thats one of the biggest reasons why they won their cycles. Saleisha is not out of the ordinary. Her body is just ok, but then again she does have control over it (i.e. great wall shot). And her face, again, is just ok.

I think they should've given Lisa a second chance and we could've seen how she did after that.

Ebony gave up and didn't have a passion for modeling.

I'm sorry, but Heather was amazing and uniquely beautiful but she can't do commercial because, to be frank, she does have a disability that impedes her from doing so.

Bianca could probably do commercial, but she didn't have the strongest pictures and was just kind of a bitch.

Jenah was amazing and excelled in so many ways, but think about, no way could she deliver a MLACG commercial. I don't believe she has the ability to truly believe in the product and from her point of view 'spew rainbows'. Being commercial is such an important part of this competition and as much as I loved her, I just don't think she do it.

And Chantal was great too, she could do high fashion and do commercial, had some drop-dead gorgeous shots, but, I have to agree with Bianca, the personality chip just wasn't there. She was too much of a Barbie and was more of 'princess' than a 'queen'.

And honestly, all of their walks collectively were just ok.

Like I said before, Saleisha had some amazing pictures, her walk was sick, and had a good vibe from her. I think if she had a killer, lanky body like Chantal's then we wouldn't be bitching and moaning over her win. When it comes down to it, your body+face are your tools for modeling and to be a top model they need to be the best and Saleisha just doesn't have that.

I think if Lisa hadn't been so sensitive and had been given another chance, if Ebony found her hidden love for modeling, if Jenah could be sincerely commercial, and if Chantal came off more as a woman than a teenager, I would've been rooting for all of them more than I had and Saleisha would've probably gone home before all them. But, the five of them technically failed in those areas and that's why she stayed and eventually won.

The moral of my long-ass post is that it truly is not her fault that she won [mod edit]. Saleisha did her job of trying her best in the competition and it payed off and Tyra should've given the other girls more chances to improve. End of story. End of post. HA

That doesn't mean we can't dislike her. I don't dislike her because she won, I dislike that she won and I dislike her.

A friendly personality? Taking a big bed and refusing to share it with a girl with mild autism... oh yeah the vision of friendliness. Saleisha was a class A bitch with a good edit. And her last 5 pictures were far from amazing. She ended with a 3 or 4 picture decent portfolio, but she never had the best photo or even a photo half as good as Jenah's. Jenah's last covergirl shot was even better than Saleisha's! And speaking pedestrianly, Saleisha is quite beautiful. She is in no way ugly, and definitely not fat. But she is not a model.

Heather couldn't flourish under a high stress environment. Her covergirl picture was gorgeous, and with time I'm sure she could have produced a fine commercial. I know those are excuses, but other girls without disabilities commercial's were just as poor. Jenahs commercial wasn't great either, but neither was Nicole's in cycle 5, but they forgave her because she was stronger than other contestants. Comparing Jenah and Saleishas portfolios and their commercials, the much larger gap lies in portfolio. Both of their commercials were terrible, but Jenah was a better competitor overall.

And I don't think you can call Chantal a princess and Saliesha a queen. There is nothing "queenly" about Saleisha. Her commercial was the second best, but still abysmal, and her MLAACG spots airing now are painful to sit through.

Saleisha did have the best walk, but again, it wasn't that much better than Jenah's.

She did not have a good vibe, her pictures were not amazing. She was never the best by far in any feild as Jenah or Heather was. Saleisha was a poor choice, and it's ok for us to have fun at her expense. That's what you sign up for when you go on a reality TV show, so let us have fun.

the thing that eludes me is that given her quite extensive experience, from runways, commercials, photoshoots, she was only the best at the runway walk. Her photos were far inferior to many other contestants, and her commercials were just dry. And if she were booking jobs and doing things before ANTM, she should've gotten tons more exposure and jobs now, but I don't think that's the case.

As for the Paris runway challenge, yes she did get picked as the best, but she was amongst a bunch of model-wanna-be/newbies. If Saleisha didn't win that challenge, she should've been shamed.

Granted, everyone is welcome to argue, and I think most people expect to see some argument here.

But good grief. Saleisha's victory is a dead horse that has been pulverized beyond recognition.

To the Saleisha detractors: I didn't support her victory, but--
1. She's not ugly! She's not terribly modelesque, certainly not the most interesting face or the prettiest face I've ever seen, but she's by no means a hag.
2. Hating her won't make her un-win.
3. She's been getting better. That last set of her pictures were actually nice. Just because they aren't of the same quality that Jenah and Heather practically pooped out weekly doesn't mean that they're bad pictures.

Basically, I'm not happy that she won, but I'm not going to wish her ill because of it.

To Saleisha's fans: I'll never understand you're viewpoint. I never connected to Saleisha's character and thought that besides her admittedly strong runway, her work was not up to snuff. Granted, all of the girls had their weaknesses, nobody was a perfect contender--but I think there were better choices in the end. Nevertheless, it all comes down to opinion, and I'm glad we have people who do support her. If Saleisha had no fans, her thread would be like a giant dumping ground of hatred and that's just icky.

And, to everyone saying Ebony should have won, because it's come up as an argument against Saleisha-- the girl left willingly, dammit. She shouldn't have won diddly because SHE QUIT, SHE WASN'T KICKED OFF. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact--she left the game, and therefore, we can assume no matter who Tyra had tried to kick off that week, Ebony still would have left.
