I dislike Saleisha as much as the next guy but at the same time you surely cannot blame her for taking up this fantastic opportunity, especially when, as withoutasol said, the producers said it was ok. To be honest the only reason I dislike Saleisha is because her pictures sucked and she didn't deserve to win. The previous experience is irrelevant to me. If she's got herself out there trying to break the industry it just shows she already had the drive.

If Jenah or Chantal had already had experience I wouldn't have cared because they both deserved to win. And Saleisha didn't. At the end of the day I want my ANTM to be as successful as she can and give the show some credibility. I'm watching ANTM not "ANTM but you can't have experience because we want to make it look like a cinderella story." If exerience is going to mean that ANTM produces better models, surely thats not a bad thing. (Although understandably in this instance the experience did not make Saleisha a better model)

I'm angry with Tyra for picking a bad winner, not because she let an "experienced" girl in.

Wait, so now her experience with Tyra Banks was okay? There's far too many personal connections for her to have been on that show, and if Saleisha wants to succeed, she should be professional enough to not enter into such an obvious conflict of interest.

It's like, as soon as the Wendy's commercial came out, all the furor focused on that alone and not her connection to Tyra. Whether favoritism actually happened directly, there's enough indirect influence and enough appearence of favoritism that it's her own fault if she gets slapped with the "Tyra's Pet" label for entering the show. She made her own decisions, and I find it *very* telling that her initial post-show interviews described her as a receptionist. I think Top Model knows there was an issue too and hoped that by leaving references to her experiences and her personal history with Tyra out, the furor would go away.

No, I'm not saying that it's ok for her to have personal connections with Tyra before the show but I do feel that it's unfair to criticize her for taking up such a great opportunity.(However, you can criticize her modelling to your hearts content)

For her to pass up the opportunity would have been ludicrous. Could you honestly say that if you knew Tyra but your dream was to be a model you would say no to being on ANTM merely because of ethics? We see it all the time in the sports field and noone says a thing. How many times do people bend the rules to get where thay want in say soccer. And how many times do we hear people say "it's not what you know but who you know" when applying for a job etc. It's not right but it happens.

However, my argument was that I was more concerned with the fact that Tyra chose her as the winner. I was still annoyed that Saleisha had been put in in the first place but it angered me more that she was crowned winner, when she was clearly not good enough. I feel therefor that neither of these problems were her fault, it was Tyra's and the judges/producers. I'm not saying that I like her, certainly not as a model, I would say I was indifferent to her as a person, but I do not blame her for wanting to be on ANTM and grabbing the opportunity with both hands.

I will subjectively assert that everyone is taking Saleisha's win a tad bit too seriously. Regarding the comment posted above, it was Saleisha's INTENT to enter the contest to win, however her winning was out of her control. Lets compare that to President Bush who stole the 2000 election; he entered the presidential election with the intent to win, and constructed a plan to guarantee his victory (thus stealing several votes). I hope this presented analogy makes clear of how it was not Saleisha's fault that she won.

For the 100th time Saleisha did not deserve to win, however you cant knock her for taking advantage of an opportunity of a lifetime. I would have done the same thing. I cant help but think that theres something more to this Saleisha hate rampage being displayed by certain fans that goes beyond the mere fact that she had connections to Tyra beforehand, however...I wont entertain that topic on this board.

We all know that Saleisha did not deserve to win, however, being a rational sane adult, I cant wish her any harm. I again wish her the best.
