Saleisha - Cycle 9

i don't think that jenah's pose was the easiest one... look at her feet, they are flying. she merely touches the rock with her one hand and she put all her strength to her right hand and balanced on the rope to get that pose. her experience made that look easy but i personally wouldn't manage to balance myself like that. saleisha took a risk, she hang herself upside down, but she was hanging, she didn't put strength to it. it wasn't an easy pose but i do think jenah had a more difficult one (i mean if that was so easy why nobody else managed to look that balanced with similar poses??).

ps. i do think that we should open a new topic where we can have a one on one comparison to the portfolios for any cycle and any contestants we think because we are getting waaaay off topic!

If you work in the industry you should be able to tell if someone's fake. Saleisha is FAKE to the max. I dont think she portrays her real self on the show. She acts 'cute/friendly' but I dont believe her, not one bit.

So many people in my school justify their love for Saleisha with "She's so cute!" And I'll say, "but she sucks eggs at modeling and she's fake," and they'll say, "but she's so cute!"

I think it's a horrible inside view into the fact that the average American has been duped into thinking that Saleisha is a good model and that success hinges on how much you can act like a little girl.

GuruBishisama I completely agree. I haven't heard anyone put it just the right way, but she DOES act like a little girl. She is cute, but boring and too childlike.

I love her picture. Even that I don't like her I recognize that her picture was absolutely amazing. Not better than Chantal's or Jenah's but everyone delivered an amazing pictures except Bianca.

What annoys me about the little-girl demeanor is that she's a grown woman. She's 21, not 15.
As for last night's episode, why did no one point out that Saleisha completely lost her neck in the photo?

I don't think she's horrible, I just think she's dull and very mediocre
And I personally don't even see the Nik comparison, Nik has those gougy, smoldering eyes and these big lips and looks very IMO, high fashion

And funny how people say they would see a lot of girls who look like Saleisha in the street? Really? Cause I'm in NYC and I never once saw someone who looked like Saleisha. I saw some girls who looked like Chantal and Bianca, but Saleisha?

I wouldn't say she looks like someone right off the street
But I think she looks like she could be just an everyday girl in high school who I could just pass by and not even take a second look at
The only difference is that most of them don't have a ridiculous mushroom haircut
Jenah on the other hand, you don't many girls who are as striking as her

Saleisha - Very Nik-like and has that "get off me attitude"

Jenah - Body faces back and turns face around? Who CAN'T do that?
Saleisha - Upside down body with one leg in the air... and her face doesn't go distorted... Not a lot of people can do that

Winner - Saleisha

Jenah was doing a profile shot, and that's fine
And the rock climbing shoot, the effortlessness of Jenah's shot is what makes it special
Saleisha's looks forced, and you can't even see what the dress looks like, and ultimately she is selling a dress

She just looks like some random video chick smelling her armpit, not dark/mysterious at all IMO
Anyway, I won't be too disappointed if Saleisha wins, I'll just be underwhelmed
IMO, she's not awful like say Jaslene, but she's just boring, there's nothing special about her
And as a model, her facial expression is the same in practically every picture
Even in the top 3 CG screencap, I thought since CG was very wholesome and commercial, Saleisha would nail it, but it looks forced, her shoulders are shrugged making her look stiff, and it just doesn't work
I just couldn't see her getting booked over a modelesque girl like Jenah any day, sorry
