if she thought she was too good for the show why bother being a contestant? instead of asking the girls if she had a prickly personality, maybe she should have asked if she comes off as prickly in front of the judges.

Clearly Victoria DOES have a "prickly disposition" and she proved that at panel (especially when she asked to take a vote). Well said! When one truly "doesn't care" they pretty much do not say the stuff she is saying, because she sounds bitter. Maybe she is too young and inexperienced to understand the way she comes across.
Just because she's Ivy League doesn't mean she has a clue about people.
Victoria thinks she is too smart for the show..yet jumped through all the hoops to be on it? Interesting.
Me thinks she's full of it, and she cared a lot, she wanted to be there and really wanted to win, but now she got booted she trying to convince herself that it was meaningless and stupid.

It seems like there is a 50/50 split on Victoria. You have one side that thinks Victoria was rude to the judges, bitter, entitled, and trying to bring the show down and you have the other side that think Victoria was a victim of bad editing, had every right to defend herself and join the ranks of Elyse, Adrianne, Lisa, and other girls that have slammed Tyra and the show. I tend to side with the former, She talked about the edit That's cuts both ways with editing. No we didn't see any basis other than the judging panel for Tyra to chastise for being difficult to work with but we also didn't see where Tyra was trying to screw her over by giving her a bad makeover, bitch edit or otherwise. I didn't have any problem with Victoria asking the questions she asked but when she interrupted Twiggy and then admitting later on to having an impromptu vote involving the other girls, she got what she deserved IMO. That reminds me of the time on when some AI contestants involved the audience whenever Simon criticized them on their performance. What she did was akin to bringing a unloaded gun to a gunfight, since the other girls don't really have any power. If they would have all decided walk out the door with her there would have been 13 more models step to take their place

Also if the judges like and the girls don't that holds more weight on this show. The girls didn't like Natasha at the F4 judging, but the judges did and she stayed even though she had the worst picture that week.

As for being Victoria "smarter" than the other girls because they take modelling more serioulsly, there is a certain segment of the population that are resentful and jealous of certain careers/jobs like sports and modeling because of the money they make. In the first place I would never suggest she leave school for modeling. Modeling doesn't last forever and it can be a means to an end for some girls. While modeling isn't brain surgery,it isn't easy to succeed in modeling. Modeling is like sports to me when it comes to the criticism of it. Everybody can do it to a certain extent but to be successful at takes a high level of talent and skill. Plus if your really good at it you get paid way more money than many college educated people do. Tyra is a good example of than that, she probably has a lot of smart people working for her

And they were her prove to the judges she wasn't prickly at all.
She stated in an interview that she was talking back because she wanted to learn, she might've not understand some of the comments the judges made. For a girl with no knowledge (sp) of fashion I can imagine it's strange hearing that your face is different, or unique or whatever Twiggy said and you're genuine interested in why. Then is it strange that she asks what is unique about her? I think not. But like the judges said, she could've asked it with a smile and then there would've been a problem. If she said everything with a smile, they could've never even judges her as prickly. And that would be stupid if you ask me, if she'd smile with everything she said. Than she'd come across as fake.
So anyway, talking back or not, being prickly or not. No matter what we think, she had 9 girls standing behind her stating it was not true. And we judge from edited television, and they judged from living with her in one house. And it's human nature to defend yourself. And in this case she was even right defending herself because obviously she was not prickly. It might've been a bit tacky to do the voting, but she was right in the end.

People are setting too much in store by editing. There's no way that the editors could've edited Victoria's voice into adopting that air of contempt. There's no way that editors could've photoshopped her face into a bitter frown. There are too many aspects that were actually and truly "Victoria", and those combined to make her come off as rude, prickly, and abrasive.

The voting was definitely tacky. Victoria may be "smart", but she's not wise. (Nigel's famous words) And she definitely lacks people skills. There were so many better ways to ask her questions, yet she worded her questions so terribly! It's probably not her fault, since some people just naturally lack manners, but to blame this all on editing is a tad fallacious.

I ‘m not sure you know a thing about editing, yes you can manipulate the vocal track, you can also rearrange scenes, slow sections down, remove parts, you can even put a cartoon rabbit into the scene.. That’s why is it called editing. I don’t think you have a clear grasp of the technology available and how simple something like playing with vocal frequency is...

Another thing… people seem to acknowledge and don’t dispute the Victoria voting at panel thing, yet you didn’t see it, I didn’t see it. Why?... editing... how is it you can admit they took out an entire section, yet they couldn’t manipulate footage to portray a person as a character? How about how they can take, oh what is it like six or twelve hours of panel deliberation and edited to fifteen minutes? If I follow you with a camera and happen to record you looking at your shoes to see they are unlaced, take that small moment. Stretch it out. Play some sad music; suddenly you look unconfident and depressed.

Editing is a marvelous tool. The great polish director Kieslowski said his favorite thing was not directing but editing, because that’s where you really tell the story. I’d suggest renting his last movie red, it’ll show you the powers of editing in one wonderfully section on the DVD...

Don't understand the beef with her.. Its suppose to find a model, and she was a natural model... but all people are focusing in on, are that she had an attitude? If she was bad model, then yes go crazy, I would be right there with you, if she didn’t have the potential physically ala jasline or caridee... yes even more so, but Victoria did have potential in both the looks: in person and on film.... shouldn’t we be angry that another creditable model has left the building when girls that wouldn’t make it in the real world remain in the house.

after the edit they gave melrose and every other girl on the show, don't understand how people can still fall for it everytime
