| I wish that Melrose was able to come off more naturally. Everything she says, it's like she practiced it in a mirror for hours the night before. And the way she says things, like "I don't feel like I lost, blah blah blah" make me feel like she chooses not to deal with reality. I know several people like that, they have this distorted perception where they are always right and good. That being said, I hope she does well, I guess. Great interview! |

| About the final interviews: They are shorter than the interviews earlier in the season. The press is done in one day, for all three girls - so that's three times the amount of interviews in one day. Also, I do not run down the entire cast because I feel like the winners and runners up have earned the right to talk about themselves. They went through every challenge and photo shoot, and prevailed. The earlier contestants have time to talk about who ate whose yogurt, etc. As for Melrose, I had trouble getting questions in that were specific to the show, even when they involved herself. She mostly wanted to talk about her future plans. Most of my planned questions went out the window. I didn't put it in but there were several times I thought she was done speaking and I tried to guide her to a different question, but she would continue on in the same vein. I think Melrose is a smart individual that will get somewhere in this business, unlike a lot of former ANTM contestants. That comment about seeing her fellow contestants as potential clients was very sharp, especially when you consider that designing a line of clothes and having them shown by Top Model contestants will be a draw all by itself, just for the novelty. (I don't know what the fashion industry will think of that, but whatever.) My overall impression of Melrose is that she is capable, and knows how to capitalize on her time on ANTM. I found her frustrating to interview, but I wouldn't say she was "fake" with me at all. That seems to be the genuine Melrose, someone who is looking out for herself (and couture gowns ). And I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing in life, and it certainly fits in with the fashion industry. Tyra, for example?
