Shannon + Yoanna - NOT ALIKE
Mercedes + Eva - SOMEWHAT ALIKE (Bubbly, featured prominently etc.)
Yaya + Naima - NOT ALIKE
Kahlen + Nicole - Both southern, but opposite personalities. NOT ALIKE
Nik + Danielle - NOT ALIKE
Joanie + Caridee - Blonde, but NOT ALIKE.

I don't understand this completely random line of reasoning.

I don't know. The black & white photoshoot usually occurs with the Top 7. Even when the black & white photoshoot was in Cycle 2, it was with the Top 7.

But maybe they're switching things up a bit and it's happening with the Top 6 or maybe Top 5.

Sorry, but I think you are reaching a little. You could look at any girl and find a personality trait to match a personality trait of another girl from a previous cycle.
Like with Mercedes and Eva, you say they were both "proud of their race." That would fit YaYa even more, because she was the one who at first did not want to give up her african wardrobe because that was "who she was" and she was "proud of her heritage."
Also, Joanie was not portrayed as a loose cannon or unpredictable like crazy Caridee.
Joanie was always more serious.

Hi. Sorry, I never post here, but I have my own theories on who will win, and I wanted to share.
First of all, I hope this doesn't come across as too controversial, but I actually can't picture Covergirl or ANTM making a mother the winner. I don't personally have a problem with it, but I think the show, Covergirl, Seventeen and Elite would avoid it. ANTM is a progressive show, but I can't see them doing that. That's why I don't think the winner will be Natasha, Rennee or Dionne.
That leaves Brittany and Jaslene. I'm leaving Jael out of it because the director of Elite doesn't like her, so it's really just a matter of time before she's eliminated.
Jaslene would be a good guess, except for a couple of things. First of all, they keep reminding us that she's "drag queenish" which would be a funny thing to shove down our throats if she's the winnner. There's also the fact that Caridee, in an interview, said


said that she is supporting Jaslene "even though (she) knows who won."

Now it's entirely possible Caridee said that deliberately to throw people off, but I don't think so. No offense, but I don't think she's that clever. I think it may have been a verbal slip up.
I think the winner will in fact be Brittany. In a way, that seems almost too good to be true. Rarely does the girl who deserves to win actually win. But, with the exception of the whinny side, she has been portrayed rather well. She's also flying suspiciously under the radar, even though she's doing the best, by far. This means either one of two things, at least to me: either she's the winner, or she's this cycle's Mollie Sue. The only knock against Brittany is she hasn't been shown that much, and I can picture them kicking her off for lack of personality. Which, of course, is the bs excuse they give when they just don't want someone to win.
But I think the eliminination order is going to go like this:

Jael
Jaslene -surprise elimination
Renee
Natasha
Dionne
Brittany - winner.

I could be totally wrong, but that's my prediction. Anyway, I think this cycle is a lot better than Cycle 7, which was WAY TOO PREDICTABLE. It's pretty hard to predict the winner this cycle, at least so far, so that's refreshing.

I hope Brittany is the winner. I guess a lot of people do not think she will be because the girl with the strongest portfolio hardly ever wins.
Also, you are correct, they are not showing a lot of Brittany, so she could be Mollie Sue'd. However, MS did not make it to the foreign location. Maybe they'll do her like Nicole from cycle three...she was given the "no personality" edit too, yet Tyra hauled her to Japan just to cut her.

I hope Brit wins....but at this point because of their constant air time I think it could be Renee or Dionne....maybe even Natasha.
All three have dominated the show as far as airtime is concerned.
Besides, ANTM is so hokey. I could hear Tyra now calling a Dionne, Renee, Natasha top three "the battle of the moms" or some such corny crap like that. All the viewers would be giddy and good reality tv will be made, but the best model will not be picked out of those three, because Brittany is the best no matter what bad edit they have in store for her.
However, has this show ever really been about finding the best model?

Well since Brit has performed 100 times better than Mollie sue did (plus she's alot younger), I cant see that happening. With Nicole she wasn't any of the judges favourites while Miss Jay loves Brittany and Nigel likes her. Brittany is amazing.
