Just want to clarify that she was a model first, then a pageant girl, then an actress. So she does belong in this thread. Not all "real" models are muses for Balenciaga or the new face of Dior, and it would a shame to exclude Aishwarya from this thread on a such a trifling technicality.

I too have known about Aishwarya for a while-since like 1997. It's true, she was a model...then went into pageants, won "Miss World" in 1994...then she started doing Indian movies and now she's in ads in the U.S. for Loreal and all these other movies.

I adore her-I think she's one of the most strikingly gorgeous women in the world. Those are her eyes! And I love her lips-they're perfect. Gee, can you tell I'm so fond of her?

Unfortunately, you're right in that Megan Ewing ISN'T used any more, which is too sad since I thought she was one of the best American models to hit it bit in the 00s. At least she's still with Marilyn Agency NYC and Clipse Agency of Dallas, so I hope she'll do more in the future!

Lonneke Engel also disappeared a few years ago. I believe she's still modeling in her native Netherlands, but she doesn't show up at Ralph Lauren at all, except for some brief capsule pics on their website. Too bad... I thought she had a brilliant career going on as well!

Milay, I like Emina a lot, too! I was stunned when I first saw this pic. She's so... enlongated (long face, long nose, super thin). It's almost like every picture of her was stretched vertically - but I dig it.

Normally I'd agree, since sometimes an "embarrassement of riches" is truly that - an embarassement. But I love how her beauty is far less plasticene and vulgar and far more warm and radiant than many cast from the same mold. Modeling is rather peripheral to Aish's career at this point (and vice versa), but since this thread doesn't exactly have any restrictions besides not posting former ANTM contestants, I figure it's all good if some like Colette P or Stella Tennant, and others like Aishwarya or Monica Belluci (also very much a model, despite her acting career and those bountiful breasts and that callipygian derriere.) Lo, I say let them co-exist peacefully here.

For me, it's usually either the dolls like Gemma or Devon or the Glamazons like Nadja Auermann. I tend to hate on the post-Twiggy types who look like they're several generations of tokers reincarnated in this lifetime as models. :rolleyes Oh - well, except for Carmen Kass I guess...dear god that woman plays chess! A. Model. Who. Plays. Chess. Is the apocalypse upon us? For that reason and that reason alone I try to hate her but can't.

I also do tend to have a problem with anorexic-looking models. Most, in my opinion, look pretty repulsive anyway, but some - like Hana Soukupova or the up-and-comer Vlada Roslyakova - would look entirely much more awesome and more like the ingenues they truly are if they just ate, oh I don't know...their weight in burgers. Just once.

ETA: Great Emina pic, btw. Totally dramatic. Too bad I have no idea who she is.

As long as we're not limiting here, what about actresses that started out as models?? I think Angelina Jolie could have been huge (as a model) had she stuck with it. Either way she was going to be successful. She is just incredibly magnetic. I'm not a lesbian, but no joke, me and my friend all agree if Angelina Jolie asked any of us out we'd be like "Y'ah huh!" She's my girly crush haha.

Liv Tyler too, although she's borderline plus size for modelling is one of my top picks for most gorgey women in the world.

I've never been on the Milla Jovovich bandwagon though...she's always looked quite plain to me. So I won't post her piccy. heh heh.

Please limit this thread to models. We've been warned time and time again that the entire ANTM forum is hanging on by a thread, and I don't want to see it go down the toilet. While Angelina Jolie is undeniably sexy, '______ could make a good model' is the kind of thing that gets us in trouble with the moderators of this board.

Did anybody see the Naomi interview on ABC Thursday night? She talked very candidly about addiction and as usual was very much a classy lady.

Relax. Liv Tyler and Aish are both still modeling. Not sure about A. Jolie, but why don't we let the actual moderators handle it.
