Her acting career may be overshadowing her modeling, but she is still modeling. Anyone seen her recent tv commercial? I think it is for L'Oreal. Also, she was made the international spokeswoman (model) for Longines watches recently. Here is some info from the world wide web...

Aishwarya entered the world of modeling when she was in the 9th grade, appearing in an ad for Camlin Industries. Initially, she modeled part-time, while focusing on her studies. As more assignments started rolling in, Ash decided to take a break from architecture and concentrate on modeling.

Aishwarya became well known in India after she appeared in a Pepsi commercial. Other high-profile assignments quickly followed, including Palmolive, Casio pagers, Philips, Sheetal diva, and Prudent. What started off as a part-time activity quickly grew into a full-fledged career, as more companies hired the young beauty with the magnificent blue-green (and sometimes blue-gray) eyes.

In 1991, at the age of seventeen, Aishwarya was coaxed into entering the prestigious FORD SUPERMODEL CONTEST by a friend. To her amazement, SHE WON, and also took the Tulips Miss Super Vivacious prize, which was part of the same contest. Ash was spotted by famous photographer Steven Meisel, and was soon FEATRUED IN VOGUE magazine. Bollywood, the massive Indian film industry, quickly came calling, and she made her first film appearance in Mamagaru that same year.

Tiiu is from Estonia.

Christie Brinkley with an orange afro!?! She's the original blonde all-American girl.

Nausicaa, I should explain the reason I was surprised that you cannot stand Kate Moss: I remembered that Mario Testino was your favorite, and I think Kate Moss was probably his greatest muse. (When I saw his exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery in London, Kate had a room to herself, while Madonna and Princess Di had to share.)

Here is the younger Kate I like. I can't post most of my favorites, because they're too risque / nude: 1. Corrine Day 2. Corrine Day 3. Steven Klein 4. Paolo Roversi 5. Famous CK Ad 6. Mario Testino (male bum in background - hope it doesn't offend)

Okay, I should stop. Goodnight.
Salome, a conundrum, innit? I adore most of Testino's fashion shots (or even celebrity, I guess...I'm not elitist when it comes to photography), but for the most part I really can't stand Kate. For me, it's not so much that she's been overexposed (I dont think she has been really, not in the past couple of years) as I just don't like how brittle and nuclear winter her face looks a lot of the time. Her features, which have been called so fine and unique, leave me underwhelmed.

note: Thanks for the pics. (But hopefully my saying that the only ones I semi-like are 3 and 6 and that I absolutely hate and have always hated the CK Skeletor/ World Hunger Fund ad won't strike rage into your heart. )

I'm a big fan of Jodie Kidd, but haha... there aren't many pics of her where she's not blasting her A-cups for the world to see, so posting pictures of her probably isn't a good idea. haha... Lisa Cant is also way up there... They did a big exposé on her, on Fashion Television a while back.

Here's a pic of Jodie. I find her okay - she's really tall though.

Hahaha and I'm also a big fan of Petra Nemcova, regardless of the fact she's a swimsuit model.

The first place I saw Kate was that CK ad in an article about eating disorders that we read in the sixth grade. I don't think it provoked the intended reaction: I was more intrigued by the rawness of her overall look - so novel compared to the gloss of what I had seen before - than shocked by her thinness. I had to find out more. She's not my absolute favorite, but she's had a huge impact.

Vivican, I remember Jodie Kidd, and I think many people have forgotten her. She really did vanish pretty quickly after "deciding to eat." I still found her pretty.

She could pass for Gemma Ward here.
It's pretty uncanny.
