hehehe, don't feel left out, we are just talking about modeling in real life. just go back one page and you will see.

this model you say kind of reminds me of Lionel Ritchie, or is it just me? (my mom is in love with Lionel Ritchie, so....)

Oh, embrace your height! I am so envious of you! Growing up I always DREAMED of being over six feet tall (I'm female). My mom is 5'10'', but my dad is only around 5'11''...so I only made it to 5'7''. I used to have a babysitter who was 6'1'', and I would always tell her, "Nanette, I hope I'll get to be as tall as you." Maybe I have an inner dominatrix that loves the idea of being taller than a lot of guys, 'specially in heels; I think height is so, so sexy, especially when it's carried with confidence (otherwise it can look kinda gangly and awkward). No, no, anniechen, some of us shorties covet your height! And I'll bet people DO find you attractive, it's just that your height intimidates them.

wow... thanks alot. I got this hunched back due to this height problem and my mom corrected me. it does feel very weird with guys under your nose, violin linguist, and growing up my mom used to pray everyday that i don't end up above 5'11 (apparently that didn't work).

embrace your height too, most guys love girls around 5'5" to 5'8", that's what i heard all the time from guys.

I totally agree with the latter - but in a world where money makes the economy go round (and vice versa), credit must be given where due, no? Models are placed on "beauty" pedestals to advertise, and advertise they do, sad as it is.

Regarding the prior point, I have to say that to my knowledge, it's a big misconception that men aren't in the majority of viewers that pay attention to models. Men goggle over images of Maxim models, SI models, and when flipping through any contemporary/lifestyle magazine, be it health, fashion or pornographic material, I can assure you the typical man will pay attention to most likely 9/10 images they flip through with appealing women in it. In saying so, I DO think that this works hand in hand with discussing how the "female model & consumer" reality plays out.

Yes, there's the woman's aspect of modelling where girls desire to be like the models seen on the pages of your monthly Vogue; Simultaneously, men notice these female models, urge their girlfriends to be like them AND/OR flip onto the "male model & consumer" abstraction where they believe that to get the hot girl, they must look like your typical male model.

None the less it's really great to peak into the world of modelling through the eyes of an actual model, or ex-model.

I agree with you.
there's one more interesting fact though I like to bring up. The gay designers and photographers totally love our types of body (unnaturally tall and thin, all skin and bones, the pictures you see that do not show ribs sticking out are touched up ones) while the boys I know from friends and family and etc really appreciate body types like Britney Spears. Imagine I never even had a boyfriend!

outside of the fashion industry, 90% of the guys I know think tall and skinny girls that have no "booty" are not attractive.

it's not that anniechen - it's because you're good looking (from what you say), and many men find beautiful girls unapproachable!!! I think I'm in the same boat here - not to stick my nose up high, but I consider myself better than average looking - and i totally see this as a reason for not having had a long-term relationship.... ever (i'm a 27 year old man)! (and I am a nice and loving person)
