While I claim no expertise in the modeling world, I do believe that Eva has certain qualities working in her favor. Aside from the boost of a great set of prizes from ANTM, I just keep coming back to that "it" factor. Body is okay, face uniquely beautiful, but the girl is magnetic - she has something that reaches out to all different kinds of people and makes them feel like they could be her best friend. Warts and all! I think the personality can potentially make up for other less ideal aspects. We'll have to wait and see how she handles the stress of the coming months.

Some of the folks watching were ANTM fans generally, some were there for Amanda and Yaya, but if the Cover Girl of the Week polls are any indication, and the UPN polls are any indication, *a lot* of the people watching were Eva fans, a portion of which will probably be interested to watch her in TV interviews, see her in ads, look out for her in any runway shows she does in the future. If a designer or clothing company wants to attract the interest of that particular demographic, putting her in their show or running an ad may well be a great way of doing it.

So if you as a fan want to promote Eva or indeed any other ANTM contestant, send Cover Girl an email or a letter letting them know how much you like her. Better yet, include a note along with your order for WetSlicks. Send a note to People thanking them for putting the pictures of her in the magazine, and let them know you specifically bought the magazine to get that picture. Write a letter to the clothing manufacturer you think she would be great for telling them what a great spokesperson she would be for them. Send a letter to Ford Models asking them if you can get a picture of her. Make your interest in her (or any of the other girls, once they have secured representation) glaringly apparent to those who have the ability to get her work.

Thank you my point exact! Look at the e-online poll she is winning by 71.4 % the majority is probably her fans the rest is probably people who saw her in publicity stuff and just like her cause she's cute.
I am so doing all the things you said in the last paragraph great ideas.

Relating to Eva, editing, and how she appeared on ANTM.

For those who think that material was edited to make Eva look good and Ya Ya bad, I saw a link to an interesting article on another site.

I'm not sure what the rules are as far as linking to another site, so I won't post the link here, but to people who wonder if/think that Ya Ya's on-air personality was just the result of malicious editing, there is a website by one of the UPN editors that states that while every one of the other girls were nice to them at the finale party (even if they were faking it), Ya Ya was the only one to blame them (several times) for "what they did to her" and to act coldly toward the staff.

The editor went on to say that, while they can "Frankenstein" a bite, that is, cut a response short and to the point if it still basically makes the speaker's point, she confirmed that the editors cannot put words in speaker's mouths or cut pieces of material together to "change" a person's personality. She stated, and it makes sense, that if they cut and pasted things to that degree, the voice, mannerisms, sentence flow/patterns would be out of sync. There was more, but that was pretty much the only part that related to Ya Ya.

I thought this was interesting b/c people have said that Ya Ya was the victim of editing. It really does seem that, no matter how the material was cut, the editors can't invent/create what wasn't there - hence the lack of info on Nicole (also mentioned in the article) who seemed like a really warm person, but didn't get a lot of footage/coverage.

I think the editing was relatively fair. Eva was shown to have made a few bad comments, but apologized for her behavior later.

Because if part of that contract stipulates that Eva will be the "covergirl face" for a year (but can't pursue other contracts) that can actually work against her. Here's hoping that her contract leaves her free to pursue other work.
Well, I'm not the lovely ANTM () but if you have a contract with a cosmetics company you can't do ads for other cosmetics companies (so Eva won't be modelling for Maybelline, for example, at the same time she is signed to Cover Girl) but you are free to do other modelling. A side note: often there is a clause which requires a model to wear the makeup of the company she is signed to on any magazine covers they appear on (take a note at the cover credits sometime). With clothing contracts generally a model can model for different ad campaigns unless they have an exclusive with one company. For example, Natalia Vodionava is signed exclusively to Calvin Klein for clothing and so she doesn't appear in ads for Gucci or Donna Karan etc. But she can wear whatever clothes in editorials. Hope this answers your questions.

That's a great idea Closet Fan. I'm going to search for the addresses and post them so that we can get right on it.

I have to disagree here. I recently read an article that had input from Mark Burnett, reality show producer extraordinaire, as well as from many people who worked on ANTM. It had discussions with casting directors, producers and editors, and it was really interesting, I'm looking through my old magazines to see if I can find it right now...if I do, I'll post it. But anyway, the editor's said outright that how a person is viewed depends entirely upon them. They said that they can make anyone into the show's villain, she could be America's sweetheart, and based on a few comments taken out of context, when a show is filmed over a period of months as ANTM is, it is downright simple to create a new character for a contestant. Yes Eva apologized for her earlier behaviour. So did Yaya. Somehow everyone seems to forget that. I'm not any fan of Yaya's personality, I am a fan of her pictures. I just think it's incredibly unfair for her to become this villainous witch, when she is absolutely no worse than Ann or Eva have been. And yet they are so easily forgiven and beloved, and Yaya seems like a social pariah now. I'm not interested in favouritism, I am interested in what's fair treatment, and Yaya's from this show really and honestly doesn't seem to be.

You see short women with 'pretty' faces (that lack bone structure and interest) on the cover of some magazines, but not on Numero, iD, W, or any other serious fashion magazines. Eva isn't going to change any designer's mind, most likely, or the mind of their 'patrons' or what have you.

Is Eva pretty? Yes. Is she perfect for Cover Girl? Yes. Is she a star? Yes. Is she going to be a successful model? Most likely not.
I am getting confused and not just by this quote but others. Isnt a person who appears in commercials or print ads considered a model also? The title is America's Top MODEL not Top Runway Model or Top Couture Model. Just because she might not do couture or runway but is successful in print ads and commercials.. she is still a top model. Just a thought. And let's see 6 months from now what she is doing before you write Eva off as not what the fashion industry would want. If you are not the fashion designer, you do not really know what could be going through their heads with their upcoming fashion line. Just a thought.

I gotta agree with this. Yaya seemed snobby and self riteous but she would've never made the comments that Eva made at the first episode.
