I was actually kind of surprised about Eva's reaction to going to Tokyo. I mean, I knew as usual when the announcement was made, she'd jump and down and act enthusiastic, but you never know how genuine that is. She seemed really psyched that they were going to Japan. She said "OMG, I cannot believe like, its one of the fashion capitals of the world, Tokyo, they have the slickest style there is." and then "I definitely appreciate the culture. I think its beautiful, and for me to experience this and become more well rounded as a person, I love it." Her enthusiasm seemed genuine, and that surprised me. Then I thought about it, and I could totally see Eva loving Japanese fashion, the very minimalist, avante garde style would completely suit her personality and her personal style. I think she would have looked fabulous in a hooded outfit like the one Tyra wore at the shrine. (Can you imagine what that face would look like framed like that? Wow!)

| Closet Fan, I always perceived you as fully impartial, but now realize that you're weak for Eva! ![]() Eva's Japanese was so hilarious to me. Whenever I'm sad, I must remember to replay that footage. ![]() |

When the show started, however, my favorites just from their looks were Yaya, Eva, and Amanda, but I've gone totally off Yaya and Amanda. One has proven herself to be too weird and too convinced she's the sexiest thing alive, the other, well, let's just say IMHO we have too many obnoxious Americans running around alienating the rest of the world as it is. I know, I know, you should judge the models by their pictures, not their personality or behavior, but life isn't like that. As for Eva, I can be impartial enough to say I hated, absolutely HATED the way she treated Amy, the half-starved semi-finalist, even though personally, I can't see how she could really feel that she looks good, and if she felt that way, that she was seriously trying to gain weight (Tyra's right, if you're trying to gain weight, you aren't drinking shakes, you're downing fried chicken and mashed potatoes). I don't like what she said about Norelle either, even though I can understand she said it unthinkingly, in a moment of worry about whether she was getting the ax, and that the reality is every girl wants the others to bite it, so they can win. But what I keep coming back to is, short as she is, she's just luminous to look at. And what I find even more appealing, the girl is damn funny. She's hilarious when she immitates the drill instructor. She's funny when she talks about the Japanese commercial. She's funny when she's talking about how badly she did in the Campbell's soup challenge. And she made the most hilarious and prescient comments about the competition as well. ("Clearly an only child. CLEARLY.") She's got the personality of a stand up comedian, great expression, and comedic timing. Think how much less fun this series would have been without her.

| I think I'm leaning toward Eva since my favourite Nicole has been eliminated... Though I still believe Eva is not so much model material =/ |

| I'm hoping that either Eva or Yaya win, Eva makes the show for me and without her it would be boring! I wasn't bothered by Eva's comments about Norelle, at least she realizes this is a competition, she's in it for herself. If Ann understood that she may do better! |

| I'm rooting for either Eva or Norelle to win at this point. While Eva's "rough around the edges" personality sometimes manifests itself in spur-of-the-moment rudeness, she really does light up a room. She seems to have that quality that reaches throught the camera, both moving and still pictures. Her lack of height will be a real hindrance to runway, but having the CoverGirl account may well give the winner enough exposure to ensure more work. I think that as she learns to control her verbal impulses, she'll mature into a very intriguing woman. That's star quality.

| I don't know whether Eva's height will be a hindrance to a modelling career or not. Why is 5'7" so abysmally short, whereas I don't hear people saying the same thing about the girls who are 5'8"? There are still some 5'8" girls in the competition, aren't there? I wish we had seen more of Eva's runway work, she looked pretty good in the runway training session with Miss J. (at least to my untutored eyes she did), I thought she had fabulous attitude in the Heatherette show, but the only time we saw her at the go sees was a quick flash before Diane von Furstenberg (I thought she looked very feminine and lovely in that dress, BTW). But even if she doesn't make it very much in the high fashion runway world, is my understanding correct that that isn't particularly well paid work? Sure, there's exposure, but at least for most models, they aren't particularly well compensated for runway work, whereas something like photo work or a cosmetic contract is far more lucrative? Maybe a Victoria's Secret contract is out of her league given her relatively modest endowment, but I could see her getting an awful lot of magazine work, and laughing all the way to the bank. I could also see her doing TV COMMERCIALS for Cover Girl, and rocking it. |

| Hmmm...ya know, a sneaking suspicion is dawning upon me. Maybe we didn't see Eva doing much in the "go sees" for a reason. Not because she was bad, because she tied for third, so she obviously was pretty good, despite being "short". Maybe there's a hidden agenda why they don't want us to have a good idea about how her catwalking skills have been progressing. I mean, the determination of the winner is usually based upon a high fashion runway walk, possibly in connection with one last close up beauty shot. Hmmm. Well, we've seen a lot of Yaya walking in the "go sees", she won the challenge after all, we saw a lot of Ann, she came in second, we saw Norelle, we saw the girls who have been eliminated since then, but not a lot of Amanda, except for the bit where Nicole Miller clearly wasn't loving her. My suspicious little mind says maybe this is a hint about the final couple of girls, but I lack knowledge about past editting, since I didn't see all the episodes from either Cycle 1 or 2. Did we see a lot of the catwalk skills of the top 2 or 3 girls prior to the final episode in those cycles? |
