Devon is actually 5'4". I love short models, it makes them stand out but the only way that a short model could become a Top Model, she has to compensate good assests for her height. But, I don't think Eva is all that great on runway, her shoulders look huge and that makes her look like an up-side down triange.

Yeah I noticed her wide shoulders a while back. Not my type but I remember showing my sister and she really loved that and thought Eva had a great look.

I still think Eva is beautiful, especially now that I can see her on NZTV

off topic- but is it the same for guys as well being able to be on the short side now as well?

I think Devon's uncle (Or some relative) worked in the industry and he was the one that got her started - it is all about knowing who in the industry.

[threadjack] Devon is one of those models who got in via social connection. In her case, her father who is the well-known owner of the Benihana Restaurants (ka-ching). She has an interesting face but I don't think she would have gotten much jobs without her being a "socialite." Look in the "real models" thread for pics. [end threadjack]

Saw Eva on the cover of Essence (?). She's looking good. The Elle shoot was such a ripoff. They did the same hatchet job to Jay and Julia from Project Runway though so...

Eva is a model, cause what else do you call those pics of hers on ads or those fashion shows that she's been on? I think Eva knows that her look is more commercial which is why she's doing lots ads/editorial rather than going for highfashion. Come to think of it, she's making more money than the past or present ANTM contestants. There's different types of modelling so why do people always expect those ANTM contestants to go for highfashion or even compare them to models like Kate Moss, Gemma Ward, Devon or other popular models?

That may be so. But I think Devon would've gotten booked even without all that exposure. She's stunning!

Yes, there are many short male models but they aren't usually well-known (well not to me at least) because the fashion industry see male models as props and aren't as interested in them as they are with woman fashion. But I see alot of male models who are short on the runway, some of them shorter than the female models. But I feel like those "short male models" are only a few exception... they still have to have a strong face. And the male modeling industry ain't as diversed as the female modeling (you don't see alot of unique male faces like in female models, and no plus-size either, lol)
