I agree completely, Veruka. And count me among those who were misty-eyed by the end of the video clip...

Just the opportunity to sing on a big stage - even just once in their lives - was enough. It is kind of like they had gotten to a certain age where the "dream" seemed impossible, and that they would be satisfied with this singular opportunity. Lo and behold, and surreal to them, the world has given them another shot. Kudos to Paul Potts for his courage. He set a great precedent for others who think it's too late but who dare to give it a chance. And, kudos to he and Susan Boyle for giving voice to the world's middle-aged population! We need it.

| Re: Britain's Got Talent 2008 how funny was it that after she was done, as the audience was crying and cheering and the judges were completely flabbergasted that she just turned and started walking off-stage?! she truly had realized her dream and it IS all gravy from this point on. i read on one of the UK's tabloids that she's already got a recording contract. no idea if that is true or not... |

| Re: Britain's Got Talent 2008 Susan, what a voice...and what a refreshingly sweet attitude. I had to put her as my Avatar! Wednesday afternoon, I downloaded the video and watched it (the 1st and 2nd time) with my 8 y.o. son. I think I had tears in my eyes before she drew her first breath in the song. Half way thru the song, my son says to me, "is that opera music?" I said yeah. He goes on, "I don't like opera, but she sings GOOD!" We got to witness a person fulfill their dream. "Yeah, that" emotican to the above posts that say -- the rest for her is icing on the cake. God Bless you Susan! |

| Re: Britain's Got Talent 2008 I LOVED the clip of Susan Boyle singing! I couldn't see through the tears by the end. I watched her sing a couple times and loved it every time. The thing that did it for me was how quickly the audience realized they had misjudged her. Everyone in the audience was rolling their eyes and frowning at her before she began, and within 5 or 6 notes they were cheering. Maybe it's trite to talk about not judging a book by its cover, but there are so many of us that have something beautiful inside us, one way or another, and we just want others to recognize that about us (or something like that). When the crowd realized just how beautiful her talent was, it touched that part of me that feels the same way.

| Re: Britain's Got Talent 2008 I was also moved by her performance. Then today I heard on my local radio station that some idiotic porn company has offered her millions to do a video. It's all based on her losing her virginity. They even want to arrange for her fare on Virgin Airlines to the states. The sick freaks of the world can't just let a beautiful moment be a beautiful moment ETA:Joy Behar is on The Insider right now accusing Simon of setting this all up and knowing already that she had this amazing voice. |

| Re: Britain's Got Talent 2008 Check out this week's BGT website for two other performances worth noting. One is a 12-year-old boy who sings and the other is a guy playing the alto sax beautifully. They were both good, but Susan Boyle still blows me away! |

| Re: Britain's Got Talent 2008 I saw it on the Britain's got talent website. She seemed a bit nervous at the beginning, but overcame that. Still loved her "I Dreamed a Dream" better though. Can't wait to hear what she does this weekend for the finale. Hope she wins it all. |
