Internationally recognized for both his work in television and music, Hasselhoff shot to fame with his starring role in "Knight Rider," which garnered him a People's Choice Award as Most Popular Actor. In 1989, Hasselhoff was cast in the internationally popular series "Baywatch," of which he eventually became the executive producer. Additionally, he is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as "The Most Watched TV Star in the World" due to his starring roles on both series.

Hasselhoff's musical career took off in the late 1980s after he recorded the album "Looking for Freedom" at the end of the Cold War. The song became an anthem for the newly united German people and remained at the top of their charts for eight weeks. The album went triple platinum in Europe and Hasselhoff was named "Most Popular and Bestselling Artist of the Year" in Germany. Additionally, he has released six other albums in Europe, which have all gone platinum and gold. He made his theatrical debut in the Broadway musical "Jekyll and Hyde," and went on to make his West End debut in the hit musical "Chicago." Hasselfhoff has also appeared in several feature films including, "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story," and the family favorite, "The Spongebob SquarePants Movie." He will also star in Adam Sandler's "Click," a new feature film to be released next month

I looked at the name of this forum, "America's Got Talent," and said, "Really?"

Then, I came in and saw that Hassle the Hoff was going to be a judge. Bwa ha ha ha! If you've seen the infamous music video, you know that the man is THE authority on all things talented. Ooga chakka!

You guys are just so funny. And on-the-money! This just cements the German star's relationship with Simon. I'd really rather see Kitt the car as a judge. She could blink her lights, purr, honk her horn, do some fancy schmancy tricks........way more interesting than David.

David Hasselhoff hit his head on a chandelier, showered himself with broken glass and severed a tendon.

LONDON, England (AP) -- Former "Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff had surgery after severing a tendon in his right arm in an accident in a London gym bathroom, his spokeswoman said Friday.

The 53-year-old actor, who played lifeguard Mitch Buchannon on the TV beach drama for 11 years, was shaving at a gym in the Sanderson Hotel on Thursday when he hit his head on a chandelier, showering his arm with broken glass, his publicist, Judy Katz, said.

Doctors operated to repair the injury and Hasselhoff spent one night at St. Thomas' Hospital in central London, Katz said.

"He's fine," Katz said by phone from New York. "He's out of the hospital and will resume filming tomorrow."

Hasselhoff is working on an ad campaign for Pipex, a British internet company, she said.
