i guess i just look at it as a principle. you don't quit because you know you are going to lose. What would happen if we taught our kids that? they'd stop play a baseball game in the 1st inning if they were down 5 runs, quit college because they needed to work extra hard to over come a bad grade.
    it's just wrong....

But Broadway, they aren't going to get a taxi in that sand... They're going to have to walk SOMEWHERE to get out of Luxor...

I think they made their intentions known when they saw that the other holes had been dug. They made up their minds that it wasn't worth it and quit. In past races no one gave up when they were pretty sure they were the last team. The brothers should have just had pride and finished the race. Skip the task and ride the boat.

In a perfect world, Phil would've snatched the shovel and beat them with it.

I agree, Nicole's such a drama queen, the local just probably tapped her.

And then headed off to find Mirna.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

What a waste of a perfectly good shovel.

I don't think Phil hsould have dignified them by even showing up. He should have sent a crew member to tell them to leave.
remember TAR#1? Bert and Ernie were told by a note in a TAR box.

So what were the choices for the detour? I only heard about the goat one.
Did Charla do the roadblock AGAIN?

I have even MORE respect for Bob and Joyce than I did before. They knew they were last, and Joyce ate TWO POUNDS of caviar that most of the contestants couldn't choke down for the lead, just to finish the game with a little class.
