Sorry LawDog! Those rules are top secret per Jerry Bruckheimer! For contestant eyes only!
"They can only edit what you give them. They cannot manufacture a fictional character out of thin air." (Bill Rancic - 4/04)
Regarding editing reality TV: "You can't edit IN a bad personality." ("Cali"-11/02)
    BB8 - A "conveyor belt of human garbage." ("Pono" - 9/07)

    Welcome LawDog!
What would you do if you did read the TAR rules?

Thanks for the welcomes, Modesty, Iobeck and Wolf! What would I do? I don't know. I'm an attorney and while watching TAR, I often find myself wondering about the rules for a given situation-occupational hazard, I guess.
Some of the rules you can tell just from watching, such as:

Each race must have at least:
1 guy who treats his partner/wife/girlfriend, etc. like a red-headed stepchild.

1 team whose frequent, incessant bitching and whining tempt you to hurl something at the tv set whenever they come on.

Anybody here ever tried out for the show?

LawDog, those must definitely be in the rulebook!

I've been tempted several times to try for the show, but I think I have more fun sitting at home laughing at the teams and the situations, and trying to come up with probing interview questions for them the next day.

But we do have frequent visitors who are either current or past contestants on the show, so if you have some technical questions, post 'em, and maybe one of them will be kind enough to answer. Heck, we might even know them already, and help out.
