Philbrow has taken their antacids and is sipping soup with Phil. I'm happy the real chef made this delightful street food and not one of the contestants.

When we got to the chess board, we discovered WE were the chess pieces and hopped around in our costumes as Phil laughed.

It wasn't looking too good for my girls (Pam and Winnie) after being last most of the episode, but they chose roadblocks wisely and put that jeep into overdrive to arrive at the Pitstop second. Go girls!

There were many changes on the leaderboard this week! Some high-placing teams lost momentum, allowing lower-ranked teams to shoot ahead of them.

Team Maybs switched from a steam engine to a high-speed rail, rocketing their train from fourth place to first. They blew their whistle on the way up to let other teams know they were coming through so they could get out of the way.

Sundays With Phil nudged the camel caravan over to let them pass but then fell in step right behind them, trying to avoid losing even more ground. The camels are getting weary but still determined to make it to the end.

Phil’s Eyebrow stayed in third place, not losing pace in their dog sled. The dogs were so set on their goal, they didn’t pay any attention to the Team Maybs locomotive when it passed them.

Dixie Drifters had to fight a strong current and fell behind slightly, going from third to fourth. Lots of rain during the week made the river swell, slowing their paddlewheel.

Buckeye Brawlers lost a little time as well, with construction and detours slowing their coach’s progress. They finished the week in fifth.

The Volkswagen Rickshaw piloted by Betting on Japan and Kaninhop Champs played chicken with the Team Maybs train and lost. They tried to outrun the powerful locomotive and burned their engine out, falling to sixth place while they had to wait for their engine to be repaired so they could return to the race.

Philbrow’s jet had to maneuver around a patch of turbulence and that set them back. They went from fifth place to seven. Their pilot is checking the radar to see if they can set a new course that will make up time next week.

Revenge of the Amazing Bellies also had an unfortunate experience with the Team Maybs train. The whistle from the train spooked the Clydesdales on the beer wagon and they ran out of control and off course until beerbelly got them settled again. Getting back on track took them from third place to eighth.

Slap Shot Express saw the beer wagon running pell-mell in their direction and slowed their snowmobile to avoid hitting them. Then they helped beerbelly get the horses under control, dropping them from sixth place to ninth.

Better Luck This Time couldn’t get their tugboat to go any faster. They got slowed down going through ports, waiting for other boats ahead of them to get checked in, and dropped from eighth place to tenth.

Team Phileas Fogg developed a leak in their hot air balloon and descended from seventh place to eleventh. While at the pit stop, they checked their balloon for the source of the leak and hope they have everything plugged so they can catch up.

The Phileas Fogg air balloon touched down right in the path of 7 NonBlondes and John’s jeep, making them have to find an alternate route and setting them back to twelfth place.

Crazy Cats got a flat tire on their sand cat and rushed to fix it. The nearest maintenance plaza was a few miles out of their way so they lost time gettin there and slipped from tenth place to thirteenth.

Rock’m Sock’m had a fender bender on their motorcycle, plowing into The Alabama Skinners’ swamp buggy as it emerged from the backwoods. This set Rock’m Sock’m back to fourteenth place and the Alabama Skinners back to fifteenth place.

Supreme Mediocrity happened along the accident shortly after it happened and used their helicopter to airlift injured pool teams to the hospital. This put them back to sixteenth place but they felt good about doing the right thing and helping their rivals in their time of need.

The Commanders of Awesome are so far behind, they haven’t seen another team in weeks and have no idea about what’s going on ahead of them. Their submarine is trawling in last place.

Team Maybs got the highest weekly score! Their reward is a scorpion casserole, a favorite recipe of the Kalahari bushmen, made from scorpions collected by the Amazing Race contestants. They believe the scorpion’s venom increases their fighting spirit, allowing them to paralyze their enemies. Enjoy the casserole and may it bring you continued success in the race!

Team Maybs maintained their spot at the top of the leaderboard. The train lost 2 of their passengers (Pam and Winnie), but they’re still carrying Chuck & Wynonna, Beth & Mona, and their captains Anthony & Bates.

Dixie Drifters went from fourth place to second. The Dixielandbelle Band is in full swing, celebrating their rise up the leaderboard.

Buckeye Brawlers also moved up, going from fifth place to third. The Buckeye coach navigated around the detours last week and made up lost time on the highway, pushing the coach as fast as it would go.

Phil’s Eyebrow came in fourth place this week. The dog sled wasn’t quite as fast as the Buckeye Brawlers so they fell in behind them.

Better Luck This Time had a stellar week, shooting from tenth place to fifth. The tugboat found a shortcut that helped them get ahead.

Sundays with Phil continued to fall down the leaderboard, dropping to sixth place. Not having team captains to earn double points for them was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Mischief Managed gained some ground this week, going from ninth place to seventh. The Firebolt is close enough to Sundays With Phil to see the back of the camel caravan and could be poised to overtake them next week.

Betting on Japan/Kaninhop Champs fell from sixth place to eighth. The Volkswagen rickshaw was too small to accommodate all their passengers so Pam & Winnie bounced out when they went around a curve.

Philbrow is still having trouble finding a smooth course. Their team captains, Pam & Winnie, got sick from the turbulence in the cabin and had to be evacuated from the jet, setting Philbrow back to ninth place.

Team Phileas Fogg patched their hot air balloon and soared back up to tenth place.

Slap Shot Express slipped a few spots from ninth place to eleventh. Their team captains, Anthony and Bates, did a great job navigating their snowmobiles but not having a full team earning points for them is bringing down their total points.

Crazy Cats came up a spot on the leaderboard. Their sand cat is cruising slow but steady at twelfth place.

Rock’m Sock’m recovered from their accident last week and ended the leg in thirteenth place. They bought some new stickers to put on their motorcycle to make it flashier and boost their morale and it seems to be working. Rock on, Midol!

Revenge of the Amazing Bellies can’t catch a break in their beer wagon, falling from eighth place to fourteenth. One of the Clydesdales broke a leg from their scare last week and the rest were getting weary so they had to wait for a replacement team of horses to be brought in. The fresh team took off, raring to go, so we’ll see if they can make up time next week.

7 Non Blondes and John are still off course, going from twelfth place to fifteenth. John could have used an express pass to get ahead of the other teams but he stubbornly refused to use it, feeling they could overtake the other teams without it.

The Alabama Skinners lost a little ground, going from fifteen place to sixteenth. If Wynona would put in as much work at the challenges as Chuck, the Skinners might be further ahead.

Supreme Mediocrity is hovering in next to last place. The team seems content to view the race from their helicopter rather than getting in the thick of things and participating more fully in the race themselves.

Bringing up the rear is The Commanders of Awesome. They’re eating sub sandwiches in their submarine while listening to their favorite Beatles’ album, Yellow Submarine, totally mindless of the race. Perhaps they’re working on a secret strategy and will surprise everyone with a big move late in the game. That would truly be awesome!

Better Luck This Time got the highest weekly score! Their reward is a horseback safari in Botswana and a team of donkeys. Or they can trade those in for $7,500.

I've pulled my rickshaw all around the world, but now with Pam and Winnie gone, I'm down to two teams. I couldn't feel farther away from Tokyo than I do right now.

The Dixie Drifters are sad that Pam & Winnie fell overboard but we're amping up, singing loud...
    Big wheel keep on turning
    Proud Mary keep on burning
    Rollin'
    Rollin'
    Rollin' on the river!
