This made the girls, who were at that point in 4th place, drop to last place in the Non-Elimination leg. Thanks to the whole thing being filmed, though, two of the robbers were caught by police, but no word on the third. I certainly hope the girls are okay emotionally, cause that can be just downright traumatizing.
Wow!! well thank god for the camera crew at that time

    Updating:

Stage 8 - Amazon Forest (Sateré-Mawé Tribe) - Brasilia (Planaltina)

Fast Foward (used by Jonatas and Rafael - but they still arrived in 2nd)

Man, it was a surreal episode, which culminated with the elimination of the Xuxas. Although they deserved this time (no thieves around), they provided the best moments of the show. Luciana simply crashed at a sign post when she was running alone in the airport hallway (so incredible that the other participants stopped and turned around to see what have happened ). Then they took too much time during the Road Block (at Brasilia Bus Station) trying to find a undercover agent answering the code "The sky is blue" (yes, TAR 8), and, during the detour, trying to create a rap (yes, TAR 10)which they were cleared because the MC simply fell pity for them because they were awful.

Still, with all those copies from previous TARs, it was one of the best episodes in my opinion. Hilarious scenes and a tight competion during the whole episode.

5 teams remaining now and the race is wide open (except for Jorge and Silvia because Jorge is running with his guts to overcome a twisted ankle and has survived 3 stages so far)

Ooh, I watched the episodes online... thanks for sharing! I had no idea Brasil had its own version. O_O I really enjoy this show. I saw the mention of the DVD on the site, but no release date (as of yet, anyway). Question, once the DVD is released... does anyone know a good site I could import/buy it from? If I have to, I'll ask relatives (in Belo Horizonte) to buy it and send it to me. *reality tv dvd junkie* XD

You can buy the DVDs now, they will be sent after the broadcast of the last episode, which I believe will be on January 5th. I donīt have any idea, after the first season ends, if the DVD will be sold in other sites (like submarino.com.br or saraiva.com.br), but I think the price (R$ 150,00 =+- US$ 85,00) sounds reasonable. They claimed to have more than double the broadcast time.

I am still thinking of buying or not. The problem is not the price but the fact that I donīt have enough space for more DVDs (wife will complain, a lot).

    Update:

    Stage 9 - Brasilia (Planaltina) - São Paulo - Itu - Indaiatuba

3rd Yield (no one used) - 3rd NEL (out of 3?)

After a short stop at 'home' for a visit to the TV Station that broadcast the race (Rede TV!), where they received the clue during a morning talk show, they went to the countryside of the state of São Paulo, just to realize it was another NEL (last one?, at least that is what the host told during another leg).

Although there were 3 Yields, no one used, pehaps because they all feared the 'Yield curse' (those who yield finish later than the yielded or last), but I think it can be because no one wanted the wrath of another team, so everyone was kind to each other. That is pehaps one of the flaws of the show so far: the lack of rivalry between the teams. There were very few discussions up to now.

For me, the biggest surprise is Jorge & Silvia, who were in the beggining almost invisible. Jorge is now in the 5th or 6th leg with a limping leg (he is even using the wheelchair to get in and out of the airports) and never feared elimination. This leg they were 2nd only because of Jorgeīs leg, otherwise they would be 1st.

    Double Update:

I couldnīt see the episode on the previous week so canīt comment much (and the videos are out of the official site ), so here are the updates from the past 2 episodes:

Stage 10 - Indaiatuba (São Paulo) - Foz do Iguaįu (FF used)

This stage had the famous 'Meat Roadblock' from TAR 7. This time they had to eat 2kg (almost 5 pounds) and, apparently, all 4 teams couldnīt finish eating (the 5th used the FF), but since there were no Romber I guess there werenīt much tatics this time (it sucks to miss an episode like this), and the penalty here was 3 hours, instead of 6 hrs.

Stage 11 - Foz do Iguaįu - Curitiba - Morretes - Ilha do Mel
    4th and final NEL

I think the 2nd NEL was due because of the Xuxas robbery, and it wasnīt scheduled, because in the beggining the host said there were 3 NELs. Anyway, this episode was very interesting, with lots of changes between the final 4 teams, back and forth detours, surprising equalizers, beautiful scenery, and in the end Jorge & Silvia were last mostly because of bad tatics, just to find out that it was a NEL. Actually, this was weird since some teams were celebrating in the mat that they were in the Final 3.

And, apparently, the next leg (FINALLY!!!) will be outside the country.

Re: The Amazing Race Brazil - Full Info

    Happy New Year everyone!!!!

We have the Final 3 for the TAR Brazil version!

Stage 12 - Ilha do Mel - Santiago (Chile) - Vale Nevado (Chile)

In one truly international leg (at last), the 4 teams went to Chile, doing most of the work in Santiago with the Pit Stop at the Ski station in Vale Nevado. The stage was really TAR level (better than some of the previous episodes) with well made detour and roadblocks (some of them not exactly new, but well chosen), and the race was really competitive along the whole stage.

Since Jorge & Silvia were last in the previous stage (NEL), they were marked for elimination. Even so, they arrived 3rd at the Pit Stop, even with Jorgeīs ankle/leg/everything hurting a lot. He was limping for the past 3 or 4 stages. In the end, they were eliminated by 4 minutes, because Jonatas & Rafael made a lot of mistakes. It is safe to say that if Jorge was OK they would have made it to the final, but his condition along with other mistakes the couple made in this stage were crucial for their elimination.

    So we have 3 teams:

-Perri & Maristela (couple, strongest team so far winning 5 stages)
-Patricia & Sane (female friends, slowing gaining momentum)
-Jonatas & Rafael (male friends, were doing good but are fading in the past few stages, dark horses)

If anyone is interested, Jonatas put their inscription video on YouTube, it was really interesting, even for those non-portuguese speakers. I can put here the link if you want to see it.

Also, we could have a first this time: as the scenes from the next episode showed, apparently the race wonīt arrive in Brazil, but this is to be confirmed.

Thank Rominger for updating all of us! I would love to watch it, and I did find the episodes on YouTube. But the thing is, there are no subtitles on the videos I found, so I'm pretty lost when I watch them.

The all-female team (Patricia & Sane) won. I find this so funny because on the first season of the Brazilian version and the Asian version, an all-female team has won. And yet, the American version has been going on for 12 seasons now (going on 13), and an all-female team has yet to win.

Re: The Amazing Race Brazil - Full Info

Oh well, the biggest surprise was already told. But there were another firsts on the season finale:

FIRST season with already an all-female win (Patricia & Sane)
FIRST team to be eliminated in the final (Perri & Maristela)
FIRST time the finish line wasnīt in the same country that started (Start: Brazil, Finish: Chile)
FIRST time the eliminated teams WERENīT waiting at the finishing chute, and speaking of that...
...FIRST time the teams crawled to the finish (will get back on that later).

Here we go for the recap, it deserves:

Stage 13 - Valle Nevado (Chile) - Puerto Montt - Dalcahue (Chile)

When the recap of the previous episode finished, Rony, our Phil, told that there were a surprise. When Jonatas asked about food during the plane, something fishy was about to happen.

Then, the 3 teams arrived at Puerto Montt to find out they had to eat 2kg (around 5 pounds) of clams and other local seafood. Since this time it wasnīt a Roadblock, the teams who didnīt eat the whole thing (no matter how, as you may have and idea how) were eliminated from the race. Honestly, I donīt know why people put those food tasks, but anyway. Because of that, after 2 hours struggling, Perri gave up and asked Maristela to do the same. The other teams were shocked and thought it was some trap created by Perri, who was by far the most intelligent racer on the entire race, but after another 5+ hours, they realized it was over for the strongest team.

After another task of carring a wooden dog house (didnīt explain why the dog house, only that it was a local tradition), the remaining teams went to sleep in a local hotel and started the day with a 15-min differential. Patricia & Sane were the fasted to eat the whole thing, so they started first. Then, they went to the Roadblock, which was to make apple juice from 1000 apples. Jonatas tried to catch back, but already looked very tired. He was exhausted by the end of the task and said he wasnīt feeling very well the past few days, which is why he didnīt make up much ground.

Then, both teams went to the beach of Dalcahue, where already the local population was gathered to see what was going on (also a FIRST in TARs, the population actually was cheering and following the teams from this time almost until the end of the stage, which I actually donīt like much).

At the beach, they had to paint the skeleton of a boat, after that, they had to carry another wooden boat to another place on the beach. Patricia asked the locals to help carry the boat (I donīt like that, but no penalty given, so game on) and the men couldnīt refuse the help of a good-looking female (there were so many that Sane was almost left behind), so everyone helped the team, leaving Jonatas & Rafael worried ("When everyone went to follow and help them, no one was left there to help us, and it looked like a heavy boat"). In the end a couple of guys went to help the male team.

Then for the detour, was either moving a house out of the water with the help of two bulls or collecting clams. In my opinion, at this time, with nothing to loose, Jonatas & Rafael should have chosen the clams task, because the girls were already in the other one and looked pretty much in control of that, but they went to choose the house task too. Rafael entered in the very cold water almost naked, which he regreted later on, alone, almost in desperation, but, according to the edition, they looked to have done it a little bit faster but not enough to catch Patricia & Sane.

After that, the race for the Finish Line. Actually, the CLIMB for the Finish Line. The mat was in the top of a steep hill. If both teams were equal after the Detour, Jonatas & Rafael would have won because the guys started to ran like man possessed after reading the clue (and the edition gave a hand making everyone think that they have catched the girls), but the Patricia & Sane had already a confort margin and grabbed the mat (yes, grabbed is the right word, I liked that) in first place, dirty and smelly.

Anyway, folks, we have a wrap and a Season!!!!!
