Route Markers for TAR 12 **Spoilers**

While searching the *new look* official TAR site on CBS for information on the Roadblock, I ran across a list of Route Markers, some of which I'd never heard of before.

I've copied all of the Route Markers, that were listed on the third page of the episode recap.

    ROADBLOCK
In this Roadblock, one Team member had to choose a high-wire bicycle and ride it across a wind swept ravine suspended almost 200 feet above the North Atlantic while their partner, sitting eight feet below, was taken for the ride. TK, Vyxsin, Nathan, Azaria, Staella, Jason, Nicolas, Ron, Kate, Jennifer and Marianna performed Roadblock.

    DETOUR
There was no Detour on this leg.

    FAST FORWARD
There was no Fast Forward on this leg.

    U-TURN:
There was no U-Turn on this leg.

    SPEED BUMP
There was no Speed Bump on this leg.

    FAST FORWARD
There was no Fast Forward on this leg.

    YIELD
There was no Yield on this leg.
Yes, FAST FORWARD was listed twice. The two new ones are U-TURN and SPEED BUMP.

Your guess is as good as ours, we haven't had those on any previous season either.

I have read some speculation that a U-Turn involves a team who has completed one Detour task being sent back to do the other task. If that's right, I hope that the U-Turn applies to everyone with respect to the particular Detour not just to one team. If it's just one team, I have no idea what would trigger it other than another team choosing to cause them to have to do it like with the Yield.

ETA: The list is now gone from the recap.

I really hope that it's not another Yield-type thing. This show is good enough without all the added drama of teams fighting with each other. Blech.

    Thanks for the info Mariner.

Should this thread be remarked as a spoiler since the information is no longer on the CBS website?

Done. I'm still trying to figure out what a Speed bump will turn out to be (other than a fabulous FORT mod). Based on the name, it has to be something to slow a team down.

Well if it really is for slowing a team down, what happens with the yield?

The yield makes the team stop racing for a specified period. I would think the speedbump slows them down rather than making them stop all together - like making them take the long way round or making them bike instead of taking a cab or making them carry something heavy that will impede their movement.

Maybe a u-turn is a sort-of yield. Like a team might have chosen to do task X during the detour but a team ahead of them has u-turned them, forcing them to go back and do task Y instead. Logistically I'm not sure how well that would work, however, as you would have to know that a team is going to choose a certain task in order to have the u-turn affect them.

This is all just conjecture anyhow.
