Thanks for the link, wow its soo long haha. Now I feel that its totally not fair for casting agents if some people have to fill out that thing.

Can I say that you, uh, totally rule? 'Cause I'm saying that. Thanks, Kari. :bigthumb:

Out of curiousity - who else here is planning on applying for TAR5? If there's another thread about that I haven't yet discovered, please direct me. If not, tell me here. If you wish. Obviously.

I'm applying, with my female pal (I'm not female). That's about all I can say here about our team, though we do have an "angle" that's not been seen before. I expect other applicants also have "angles", I wonder how much emphasis you put on them...?

If your avatar is any indication, yes, you do have an angle we haven't seen yet!

Ok, here's my question now that casting for TAR5 has >theoretically< begun.

Since C/R won TAR4, and they were casted rather than applying, do you think that makes it more likely CBS will do more casting than applicant picking for TAR5?

There's a dilemma: is their goal to find winners? If so, TAR4 indicates that they should cast. If their goal is to preserve the integrity of the show and actually make it fans who applied and who will therefore be more interesting to the other fans, they should leave the casting agents out of it!

I personally hope everyone chosen for TAR5 actually applied. I was ticked when I found out about the casting in TAR4.

What do you guys think? Will they use casting still, or get back to "reality?"

Their goal, apparently, is to find camera-genic teams with personality. Why they can't do it from tapes is beyond me, but whatever

No enough spoof for those that send in tapes ? Well, it's entertainment anyway...

This leads me to 2 logical conclusions:
    (1) TAR fans who submitted applications are all non-photogenic ugly slobs.
    or
    (2) The Casting Agents are too lazy to process thousands of applications. They much rather hang around bars.

I personally don't care how the cast of TAR is chosen, as long as I get to see TAR. I mean, what if the lion's share of mailed in tapes n applications were boring, bland, or lame imitations of former racers? If I was casting, and that's what I got, I'd go hit a bar for sure. Besides, what constitutes a "real" applicant anyway? Aren't buff guys & models real people too? Besides no one can say they don't like the eye candy we sometimes get.

To be honest, their method of casting wouldn't affect whether I watched the show or not if I wasn't applying. I don't like the thought that my carefully put-together package might not even get opened.
