12/6 Season Finale Show Discussion **Spoilers**

Imagine the potential drama if the poker gals were in the F3. They know Las Vegas like the backs of their hands. And counting out $1 million in poker chips - that would probably be a piece of cake for them, and they'd make up a lot of time.

But I'm glad that of the F3 that were there, Meghan and Cheyne won. I kind of wonder how the tall brother would do in future job interviews, given his demonstrated lack of integrity and inability to handle stress. I would not hire him, nor would I want to work with him. Let's hope he has a good job, and that he wants to stay with that company. JMO.

I would think that anyone who remembers Grace Kelly (or daughters Caroline and Stephanie or son Albert from the Olympic games) as the Princess of Monaco would realize that Monte Carlo is the capital and only city of Monaco. But then, they didn't recognize Jackie Kennedy either. I think that was this season, but I could be wrong.

The question was the most famous casino in Monaco. Monte Carlo is well-known as a district of Monaco, like Brooklyn is a district of New York and Wembly is a district of London. The casino at Monte Carlo is world-famous and is where James Bond (the most famous of literary and film spies) did all his gambling. That's how a person would know this.

Some people also know it because of Grace Kelly ( if for no other reason than the way she died) and/or her brood of very active children (now adults) who often ended up on celeb gossip shows for a looonnnnggg time.

But then I am still trying to figure out how so many Americans would not know what Jackie Kennedy Onassis looked like......

I personally find that somewhat embarrassing.

Because her whining (and accompanying husband squashing) isn't about fear, it's about a lack of grace in the face of adversity.

She didn't whine in the building thing, because nothing went wrong. If it had? She'd have been right there with the bad behavior. Sure it took courage. No denying she's capable of that, and she almost won me over for that. But later, when things didn't go her way? She fell apart. Because "failure" is her Kryptonite, not "fear".

As a writer whose job it is to study people--human behavior--I can tell you that there are many different kinds of people who react in different ways to stressful/pressurized situations.

One kind is what we think of as the "Strong silent type"--which is often mis-attributed only to men. There are many women like this too.

Then there are the verbal types of people who verbalize EVERYTHING they are doing/feeling as a way of handling things and/or just as the way they get through life.

As a verbalizer and sometime silent type I can tell you that there are also mixtures of these types (and there are other types).

And also say that one way of habdling stress is not necessarily "better" than another. It is however not surprising that more men would find a verbalizer to be "Annoying" because in our culture men are mostly taught NOT to verbalize their feelings but to be the "Strong silent" type no matter how they feel.



This is just the way things and people are.

I personally do not judge a person's character by the type of behavior they exhibit under stressful situations since a lot of it is genetic and the environment in which one was raised.

For me personally it is not very important what people SAY as they do something-but that they are actually DOING it.

Having been in contact with First Responders for a long time I can tell you that these types exist in First Responders as well. Whether a cop is being quiet or is chattering/complaining a mile a minute is not as important to me as whether she/he is saving someone from danger or taking care of an unsafe situation.

How one sees this might be a matter of different kinds of experiences with a lot of different kinds of people.

Note that while being very verbal Erica actually DID all the things she was being very verbal about.

After watching the finale I must honestly say to Erica and Erica's mom and family. Erica is very lucky her husband is still married to her.

Add me to the list of those shocked that these people did not know the Monaco/Monte Carlo connection, or had trouble knowing who Wayne Newton is, but I was also surprised that so many had no idea that picture was of Jackie Kennedy Onassis.

On last night's show, something did surprise me. When Meghan and Cheyne were at the airport and the brothers arrived, they both wondered who the third team would be. They did not know whether it would be Brian and Erica or the Globetrotters. Maybe they just didn't run into each other while at the pit stop. I had never heard any other teams on previous shows ever wonder who they would be racing with/or who got eliminated. I always figured that once teams got to the pit stop, they ate a meal together or hung out before trying to get some rest before the next leg.

At the start of the finale the time stamps showed that Meghan and Cheyne left at 11am and the brothers about noon. This means that they arrived at the pitstop at 11pm and midnite. They needed to refuel (eat) and sleep and strategize for the next leg. Erica and her husband arrived at the pitstop around 3am in the morning and left at 3pm the following day. The first 2 teams were probably asleep, got up ate breakfast and had left before Erica and her husband were even up. So them not knowing who the third team was makes sense.

I'm a woman and a verbalizer. However, Erica elevates verbalizing to a level of insane, hysterical bitchiness and I wouldn't travel with her, or anyone like her, if you paid me.

Note that while being very verbal Erica actually DID all the things she was being very verbal about.

She may have done them, but not without a whole lot of "I'm not doing this anymore"s thrown into the mix, with Brian having to sooth and cajole her through the process. I would be willing to bet that if he weren't there to talk her through everything, she would have given up.

Just because Cheyne did the task with his eyes closed is no reason to call him a girl.
