I've watched it now for the 10th time (and now we know that the previews showed it all and was not edited) and Luke was still there first. I don't know why she felt that it was OK to try to push him out of the way like that. I see no problem with him pushing her out of the way. She had no reason to call him a name because she was the one that was being that word. IMO of course. I might have a different view for the 2nd incident. I never did watch that one very closely but on this one she was totally wrong.

WHY did Margie feel the need to tell Luke that Jen muttered 'bitch'? And why is she not reacting to his fist-pounding? It couldn't wait till later to tell him?

Because it made her mad and if it were my kid I would have been mad too.

Honestly, I think he honestly has a right to know if people are saying things about him right in front of him and he can't hear it himself. Plus, she did say it pretty loud, I wouldn't have called it muttering.

Luke, honey, calling anyone a bitch isn't nice. Not just because you're deaf. It's not like she called you a deaf bitch.

I think she just couldn't stop--he DID elbow her, sort of, but I think it was a reflex, and I think the word 'bitch' just fell out of Jen's mouth, which is why Margie should not have told Luke about it, if you ask me; I thought it was pretty quiet, and he was pretty much GONE, if it had been me I doubt I would have heard it..

What I think happened was she just collided into him because they were both headed there so fast, and Luke's natural reaction to it was probably just to push whatever was on him off of him.

Let me rephrase. She was clearly trying to move him forcefully out of the way so she could get the clue first.
