If the wind changes this might be an advantage for Mel and he gets to go. All the teams took the other option but Mel can't.

Mel hurt his groin muscle the last episode and he doesn't think he could make the trek down the hill.

Mel doesn't want God to intervene on his behalf but wouldn't mind if he does. And of course, now he can take off.

Well, at least he realizes that God doesn't help Reality Show contestants.

EDIT - Or maybe not, since as soon as the wind DOES change he calls it "a miracle". But at least not one HE asked for.
