Amazing Race Season 2 on GSN

Reruns start tonight at 9:00 pm and Midnight (Eastern Daylight Time). 3 hours earlier on the West Coast.

This is a good one, people! One of my favorite seasons overall.

They put together another good cast, and combined it with a great route. Also, they learned a number of lessons from the first season. Editing is tighter, physical challenges are generally more difficult (and there's still a fair share of more "mental" challenges, too). Clues are still much in evidence, and we are still blessed with the FF being available on every leg. The start is visually dramatic and the ending....

Well, it's just the best last leg in TAR History!
Plus, we now get Phil at the mat to greet all the teams!

    Enjoy!

Considering that the first TAR episode that I ever saw was the season finale for season 2...(and has made me an obsessed fan ever since)--you KNOW that I'll be watching this.

And for all of the complaints that one might have about how TAR is being presented on GSN--many of which are really complaints about how different the first season was edited compared to later seasons--it is really nice to know that every night, there's an Amazing Race episode to watch...

...although, check back with me on my enthusiasm level when Jonathon and Victoria's season runs...

PS--Completely off topic comments about the recently finished Season One, which I'd never seen before: OH MY GOD did I hate the Guidos... Had I seen them first, I don't know if I would have spent so much time disliking Romber (who were actually somewhat decent, most of the way through the race) or Colin & Christie (...uhhhh...no, I'd still dislike them...) And regarding the second place team (unspoiled for those waiting for the DVD)--has that ever happened before...where a team was so certain that they were ahead only to have their certainty crushed like that? Not a dramatic finale as in other years...but an emotionally wrenching one.

Well, Frank and Margarita in season 1 were pretty convinced they were about to win, even thinking the cheering of the others waiting was a sign they were the victors. Only when Frank saw Rob & Brennan did they stop running and become deflated (in Margarita's case). I haven't seen season 2 yet so I don't know anything about the ending.

Love having TAR on every night. Just wish it would be on at 8 instead of 9. But it's fine.

    Can't wait until tonight!!!

    I guess I wasn't clear...

To CCL: I was talking about the ending of season one--as indicated in the first line of the PS...and I was wondering if there was any other example of a team totally confident that they were winning when they didn't. I guess it wasn't clear that the situation you mentioned was the one I was referring to because I didn't want to mention the team in second place or the team that won season one as I didn't want to spoil it for anyone who was waiting for the DVD of Season One.

    [[
(But now that you've mentioned it, it caused so many different reactions to me...up until the split last leg episodes, I'd warmed to them as a team after hating Frank for the first couple of episodes. Then, they started fighting again...Marge started making mistakes, Frank started to get weird...and then they got WAAAAAYYYYY overconfident just because they were going to their home city. The argument with the towncar driver cost them the race...but they were so convinced that they'd been sooo smart that they didn't recognize the reality of it all. So, I was annoyed at their arrogance...but felt the weight of their disappointment with them when they realized, at the last possible moment, that they weren't about to win...)
    ]]

Season TWO'S ending is far more dramatic than nearly anything I've ever seen on television...and since you haven't seen it yet, I'm certainly not going to spoil THAT for you.

Yay Season Two! Yay Game Show Network!

This was EXACTLY my thought last night as I watched the completion of Season 1 -- I hadn't seen it in its completion before. Hopefully those that get a chance to either have watched on GSN or via the DVD will see that Romber wasn't anything CLOSE to ruthless as Team Guido -- They were nasty!!

The second season is off to a flying start. The only team I remembered is Danny and Oswald until I saw all of them again. Then I remembered all the hullabaloo about Wil and Tara and Blake and Paige. This is really going to be fun to watch again.

When ypu whatch the older show, you realize how excellent the casting was. The first 3 shows had mostly "regular people", no models, actors former reality show contestants, yet the interaction and racing was great. Also it seems they had more real clues. Just an opinion.

The old Amazing Race was soo much better! (season four is stil my favourite!) While it's still an exciting show, you don't feel the extreme emotion of the contestants as we used to.

On a little side note, I don't have GSN in Canada! (I don't think) So, I guess I'll have to buy them on DVD!

I found it funny how Margarita kept saying Rob and Brennan were following them again, when R and B were ahead of them most of the time! Then she says soomething to the effect of them being poor sportmans, when I felt they played just as fair as F and M.
Anyway- can't wait to start watching TAR 2!

So great to see TAR2 -- Danny and Oswald are my all-time fav team. It was fun to be reaquainted with this group of teams and now see how they have improved the race from TAR1 -- Phil on the mat for each team; red/yellow route markers and still giving clues that are challenging. The momentium is great on this season and some of the funniest moments in TAR history (MHO) are in this season.

I love having it on EVERY NIGHT! Now if they would just put this season on DVD too...

DoeBoy - you can get GSN in Canada. It is one of the premium channels on the Rogers digital network (not sure about Bell ExpressVu but they might have it on that too). You have to pay for it (you can order it by itself, or as part of a package) but it is worth it, for TAR and for other great gameshows. I think so, at least.

Season 3 -- so with TAR2 running nightly, you should see TAR3 soon!

I really thought that Will's attack on Blake seemed a little unjustified. I didn't see anything in particular that Blake did to cause this tirade, so why did he get singled out? It seems like Will just randomly picked someone to vent his own mistake on. Tara was clearly screaming his name out while the other teams arrived (probably alerting them to the counter in the process). I made a mental note of how obnoxious I thought he was by doing this, and you just confirmed that it's really just the tip of the iceberg. Charming.

Yes, definitely the tip of the iceberg....the recappers make it very humorous so take a look AFTER you watch the episode!

Well I have recorded every single episode of TAR from Season 2 to Season 7 and the season finale in Season 2 was definitely one of the best although it kinda sucked when my favorite team did not win...They were freaking screwed...The 1st leg was also awesome...and unfortunately, this was one of few episodes i did not record. Just a question, how did Wil and Tara catch up to Blake and Paige and the rest? Was it all because the teams were unable to find the boat?
Well, I was thinking when he said, "king of the jungle," I was, like, "Well, during the first challenge you would still be lost in the jungle if Jim and I hadn't, like, led you out. - Brooke Struck on Judd

I had forgotten how much I liked Blake and Paige until I saw last night's episode again. They were so kind to each other. Could you imagine the reaction of most teams if their teammate had lost the team's money (as Blake did)? Most would have gone crazy, but Paige was very even keeled about it. Way to go guys!
