But wouldn't it seem awfully strange for them to air an episode that was partially filmed in that part of the world, and totally neglect to even mention the tsunami? I would have found that very cold.

Oh, I agree. I just don't see the sense in pretending they are good people merely for doing something self-serving like CYAing themselves. They may well be good people, but not for that reason. Just prudent ones.
