What happens tonight? Does the race actually start and someone gets eliminated tonight...or is just a "preview" and no one is eliminated until next week?

In the previous four races, there hasn't been a non-elimination leg before they whittled down the pack to 6 teams.
If history is any indication, some team will be eliminated tonight.
I think they pretty much have to eliminate someone... don't bore the audience with your first episode... that's bad marketing
There will definitely be an elimination tonight.
TAR4 had an elimination on the first leg. I hope the non-elim legs are spaced out evenly instead of bunched toward the end.
NEL's are easier to do nearer the end, because there are less teams, and less cost involved.
But it is also easier to predict if the next leg is a non-elim. A team may not go all out if they can guess with some certainty that they won't be eliminated.

Every last ounce of excitement and anticipation is lost when you know it's a non-elimination leg. There's hardly any point watching.
The fact that they take money away from the last team in a non-elimination leg should add a little more excitement anyway.
True. I had forgotten about that new rule.
