I have an Audi (FYI-its German) and it has a "Tiptronic" Shifter that I can engage if I want to shift gears manually, but does not have a clutch. The on-board computer also won't let you over-rev the engine. I agree about the driving suggestions, maybe learn to drive a motorcyle also.
My other suggestion is to practice, practice, practice. There always seems to be some sort of extreme activity such as bungee jumping, etc. Try this out to see if you have the guts for it. Also learn to rappel use mountain climbing gear, etc.
